I should have my kit by Tuesday any pointers to make my install easier aside from what has already been discussed?

get a coat hanger or a metal fish and get ready to push the wires through the firewall grommet.. thats the biggest pita... take the fuse cover off the fuse panel underneath the driver foot area and push the fish from the engine bay toward the inside of the cab first then pull wires through... its the hardest part. BTW the boston acoustics system in my wife's 2013 Camaro SUCKS MY A$$ compared to my kicker.

do you feel like your back speakers are as loud as they were with a stock radio?they sent me back a new amp I hooked it up it sounds the same if you fade to rear the back speakers just do not sound any better they say that it is design the rear speakers are just fillers.they also sent me a new harness I have not hooked up the new harness up because I don't believe that could be a problem since I do have sound from all speakers.bass just sounds unproportional to volume levels when listening at low volume bass overpowers everything.find myself constantly adjusting bass levels and volume levels to find good sound.the guy at kicker has been very helpful though and it sounds pretty good at higher volume I just don't know why they turn the back speakers down so much

I'm thinking I will need to replace all 4 door speakers to try to get the sound I am looking for

Mall crawler can you fade your eq to rear and reply how loud it sounds. Maybe it's just me but I feel like they have rear speakers turned down and it makes my volume overall sound lower. They say that's on purpose that the front is amplified more to create the "stage".also have you upgraded your door speakers?

Good news! Just received mine, and I'm going to install it this weekend... I am now wondering the same thing that another user asked about earlier in this thread- Is anyone running the kicker package (dsp/amp/sub) while using the under seat storage thing in the back?

I'm wondering if the storage box can be modified to fit with the sub. Thanks in advance, and thanks to mallcrawler for this awesome thread!

I've removed the sill plates. There's a box like channel that houses the wires. There's tabs on both sides and you need to disengage the ears at the same time bc if you do one at a time, they'll easily snap back in place. Have something such as a screwdriver lay perpendicular under the top portion or lid to keep it up. You'll need a couple small flat blades to do the prying of the tabs.

Hope this helps.

i installed the power gate system in my truck, like others said the firewall grommet was a bitch. also getting the sill plates off always sucks, so does putting them back on. having a trim panel pry kit would be my recommendation. also start at one end of each, pry it up little and get a look behind where the retention tabs are. then get your pry tool as close to the tab then wedge as you'll bend/break them in no time and they'll never go back in the same.

make sure you test route all your wires too. my sub amp power line barely made it.

to the guy with the under-steat storage: the sub box takes up the entire passenger side under-seat area. you'll definitely need to cut that thing up.

I have the Bose option in my truck (2014 Sierra SLT Crew cab) and wanted a little more thump, so I picked up the Kicker sub upgrade from a store on eBay and installed it and have been very satisfied with it. Here is my post on a different forum for more details with pictures of install if you are interested.

I installed mine a couple months ago the tools referenced from amazon worked great. I ordered something similar prior to install. I am happy with the sound quality as well.

I installed one of these in my truck last spring. Works great, took me about 2 hrs to install ( I am anal when it comes to wiring ) and never looked back.. Love it, sounds great, fits under the rear seat in my truck ( pass rear ) and screwed the remote infront of the center jump seat. I recently upgraded my head unit ( NX602, guy gave it away for 150$ ) and will be using the pre-amp outputs from the head unit instead of the rear speakers as input ( and a remote turn on wire ) But for 180$ at walmart you cant go wrong. Also upgraded the front speakers to Kicker 6.5's... doing the rears this coming spring along with backup camera.

I thought it wasn't compatible with the BOSE system. Any difference in how you wired it? Pics of how you wired it?
