MPG Issues with 6.2 Denali

The gas clicks at almost 23gal when light first comes on but I can squeeze 24 in there so I'd say it's more like 3-4gal when the light comes on.

 

And whoever is pinching pennies to save on using premium will learn a hard lesson in the future. Can't imagine these new 6.2L are cheap from the dealer..... $8k-$10k just for the engine I'm guessing.

 

Knock will destroy an engine, power is all about timing.

I thought I heard an ls7 was closer to 15-17k

It was a big topic on the corvette forum with so many people having blown engines due to valve guide failure that gm lied about. Then sort of admitted to but is hoping to sweep under the carpet.

They say that only a small number if engines are affected. But in reality it's close to 50% of the Ls7 made have a manufacturing defect that will eventually lead to valve guide failure, a dropped valve and a destroyed engine.

Which is one of the reasons I sold my corvette.
