There are 2 things that Memorial Day means to me, 1 is a day to count my blessings and 2 is the most important it's a day to remember the people that gave their most priceless gift, their life, for all of us to have these blessings and our freedom so I say thank you to the families that have had to make the ultimate sacrifice for us all you have a special place in my heart. it's a shame that a lot of people now a days think it's just a day off to BBQ and party, so sad..i myself, and others here have lost family, friends, to keep us free.. to all that have

Let's not get Memorial Day confused with Veteran's Day, seems so many do and the television media is a main reason for this.

 

Memorial Day is to remember and honor those who protected out great country but are no longer with us.

 

Veterans Day is to honor and thank members of our military who are still here with us enjoying the freedoms they fought so hard to protect.

 

Enjoy the holiday and don't forget what it is for.

Correct. And i go to the national cemetery here on memorial day for a ceremony every year. Except this year. I was at a funeral last night and felt awful this morning when i got up. US Congressman Kevin McCarthy usually speaks at the ceremony.
