Ordered a sierra all terrain today!

Went into the dealership just looking at trucks today and walked out having ordered the exact truck I wanted.

 

The salesman didnt have many options on the lot and I told him what I was interested in. He said they just made a bunch of factory orders yesterday and that they could probably change one to what I wanted. I have no commitments to buying this truck. They are going to change an order to a 2014 sierra 1500 all terrain package with the 5.3L and a couple other little options. If I don't decide to buy it, they said they'll sell it to someone else but I get first look at it.

 

I wasn't sure about the 5.3L though. I haven't driven a 6.2L but I'm thinking I probly don't need it anyways. I don't tow a lot, if anything, it'll be my daily driver so any extra mileage is great, and Im not buying a truck to be a race vehicle.

 

Best part of this is, I kinda wanted to wait till 2015's are out but this truck won't get here till August, by then we'll have more info on 2015's to tell me if I do want one or not.

 

Here's to hoping that incentives are pretty good by then, I really really want 0% financing back.

Congrats! That's what I'm waiting on, 2015 sierra AT. Summit white. Think I'll end up going the 5.3 route as well.

It sounded like it's not yet. The salesman and manager said they keep pushing back the 2015's. I guess we'll see what happens.

If you're not inclined to drag race your truck on the streets, a 5.3 will likely do anything you ask it to do and you won't be disappointed. I now have a 2014, 5.3, crewcab, 4x4 All Terrain. It's about the same level of power my 2008 Vmax 6.0 crewcab had but gets a couple miles to the gallon better around town and a bit more than that on the highway. I thought about the 6.2 but frankly, I'm trying to suppress my adolescent instincts to drive fast...in my old age. . To some extent, I'm doing better. I didn't want to be tempted by a fast truck. I'd have a stack of tickets if I had a 'Vette or other fast car.
