Hello new to the forum and need help before the wife finds out i broke her sd card. She has a 2012 tahoe with the Advent system installed. Her navigation kept telling her she needs to update the maps, so I took out the sd card and done everything the website said to do and nothing would work. So I put the card back in her tahoe and then got a message something about no file found on card. So as i was trying to get the card out again I broke the card in half. So can i get another card from the dealer or what can I do. Thank you for any help you can give me...

Get another SD card and go to this web page. http://www.adventproducts.com/downloads/

Select your wife's system from the drop down list and you will be directed to another page that will tell you how to download the maps onto the new card.

Or you can go to this page and ask advent support for help. http://www.adventproducts.com/support/

Thanks Z71 I tried that it updated the radio and everything else, but still no navigation.keeps saying no file path found.

There must be a way to go into the radio settings and change the path (how the radio finds the location) of the maps. It must have be corrupted. What is the model of the unit?

Thanks Z71. I have tried everything and nothing works. I am guessing since I never got a chance to back up the original sd card that there is no way to put the maps on a new card from the website. I am hoping I can go to the dealer and get a new card by Tuesday or find something that works. Thanks for all your help.

This isn't a factory item, the dealer will have to order it most likely.

I have had this problem before. After losing my SD card in a warranty swap, I was informed by Naviextras support that each SD card is unique and you cannot interchange them from one unit to another. Also, you cannot copy the files to a new SD card or change the name or path.( I tried). In order to fix this problem you have to contact Naviextras support and they will send you a new SD card for your unit.

I hope this helps you and others solve this problem.

Good luck

I have two SD cards for mine, one it came with and a spare i created using a card i had lying around. Both work perfect fine. May have to do with how you created the backup.

I do believe that the some file in the software on the card is unique to each unit such that you cant just swap cards or copy software from one unit to another

I didn't say that you could not use the backup. I was just relaying the information that I received from NaviExtras support. That you could not swap SD cards from one unit to another.

In any case, that is what I had to do to get my OGM1 operational.

I think what you said about copying software is what they meant.
