2007 1/2 2500HD DIC Faults

I have a 2007 1/2 LTZ 2500HD Duramax. I'm the second owner (2 years now) and bought at dealership. I have an intermittent problem with several of the idiot lights and warnings. The ABS light and brake light will come on for several minutes or more while driving and then will go out. Usually at the same time the service 4 wheel drive and service trailer brake warning message will come up. After a few days the errant voltage will build up and the check engine light comes on and all of the warnings go away. I end up taking it into the dealership for service and they erase the faults and everything works okay for a while. Then it all starts again in a few months, weeks or days. Days being the last time service was required and I was told the ignition needed replacing and cleaning of a few of the connections. This did little more than remove a few hundred dollars from my bank account as it was only two days later and it started all over again.

This usually occurred a few days after it rains or I've gone through the car wash. However, the last time, it had been weeks since any water hit the truck.

I have also noticed that during the time when the lights are flashing that the transmission will shift harder or at different points.

Any help is appreciated.

The ignition replacement could have been related to the recent spate of recalls and TSB's on faulty mechanisms. They may have guessed that was it, but being on the safe side thinking it was a good idea anyway.

I would get a code-reader myself, as they are pretty inexpensive. If you find one that reads pending codes as well as active codes, you can see something that's going on whether you have a warning light on or not. Either way, if you have some codes post them. The dealership should have given you the numbers if they cleared them for you, or see if you can find out what they were.
