So without the BDS kit pushing the wheel out, would the flares be needed

No, I think the 5" backspacing would look pretty good on a stock or leveled truck. Might stick out just a bit, but that's the look I prefer.

Update! We took a 300 mile freeway trip yesterday. These tires are too loud for me at 80 MPH. I think it would be bearable in another vehicle where wind noise would blend with tire noise. Since new though, I've noticed that the quiet cabin in this truck almost magnifies any tire noise because of the lack of additional white noise to blend with it. I'm going to do my best to insulate the wheel wells better, but I think these tires are coming off, unfortunately. They look so good, I wish they were quieter. It may be the "extreme" tread that creates the noise, but I'm not sure.

Sucks to hear... no pun. How were they in the 55 to 70 range, as thats the majority of my speed? As for Insulation, I'm not sure how much just the wheel wells will help. Sucks to hear... no pun. How were they in the 55 to 70 range, as thats the majority of my speed? As for Insulation, I'm not sure how much just the wheel wells will help. The noise becomes noticeable at 50 MPH. It's not terrible at 70, but they are screaming pretty well at 80. I do plan to Dynamat the entire floor at some point. I figured the wheel well liners would be an easier, more immediate solution though.

Realizing noise is definitely a subjective thing, are you comparing that noise to what your stock tires were? I think these tires (as my review stated previously) are pretty quiet with a little whine. My Dick Cepek Fun Country "All Terrain" tires were 5 times louder then these tires. Just nice to know what the "noise" is being compared to for comparison sake. Thanks

Tire noise is absolutely subjective. My hopes for this tire were a bit unreasonable, but was hoping I'd get lucky. In fact, I'd like to try the non "extreme" model, as the tread looks a little tighter (and maybe quieter). I had fully expected these to be louder than the stock Goodyears.

I ditched the stock tires at 300 miles for a set of Cooper Zeon LTZs. Those are mildly aggressive but still darn quiet. I didn't care for the deep snow traction though. Figured I'd try something new since I lifted the truck and had the extra room. The Toyos look fabulous in my opinion. They are quiet enough around town and even up to 60 I really didn't mind the noise. At 70 the noise was on the edge of my acceptable range and at 80 they are just too loud. Much louder than BFG A/Ts or Dueler Revos that I've run recently. They are definitely quieter than the Goodyear M/Ts and Mickey Thompsons I've run.

I often drive 6-12 hours straight at freeway speeds on hunting or fishing trips. I just knew I wouldn't be able to stand it with these tires. So the Zeons are back on for my trip to Canada this week. I'll hang onto the Toyos and try them again after I Dynamat the whole truck.

Don't forget to Dynamat the inside of the door skins and the roof.

I have toyo at2 P275/55r20s and they are a nice tire. Ran them in the winter last year and could plow through anything. We usually get a lot of snow up here for what seems like 1/2 the year so i'm used to driving in it. I don't find they're loud on the highway either. A bit louder than stock but not much road noise.

These are the 295/55/R20 Toyo AT2 OC. Xtreme on 0-offset OEM Denali wheels with a 2" RC front-only level kit. Truck stance is 38.5" underside of fender lip both F/R. I've been pleased with them so far and haven't noticed any significant road noise.

I picked up a set of these in size 275-60-20 the P rated version. They ride well, but I am less than impressed with them in the looks department. Those of you running the Extremes, how harsh is the ride compared to stock, and what was your mpg loss? I am thinking of swapping these out for size 285-55-20. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Those of you running the Extremes, how harsh is the ride compared to stock, and what was your mpg loss? I am thinking of swapping these out for size 285-55-20. Any help would be greatly appreciated! you are running a 33" tire, do you have any lift? any rubbing?

Sadly they are only about 32" once mounted. I have a Rough Country 2" front level. No rubbing whatsoever and could definitely fit up to about 34" it looks on the stock wheel offset.

Those of you running the Extremes, how harsh is the ride compared to stock, and what was your mpg loss? I am thinking of swapping these out for size 285-55-20. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Anyone? Possibly compared to P rated tires. I know the ride is probably more harsh hitting cracks, expansion joints etc, but do you feel more imperfections in the road, or does the 10 ply not transfer as many imperfections into the cab? I have read that some people are actually pleased with the LT ride over the P. Any info you can send my way would be great. Thanks again!

I'm also interested in how these do in the snow and ice. I have to drive over a mountain to work everyday and am nervous about what tires to get.
