That response is a tad bit on the rude side, is inappropriate and not needed.

Man, I sharpened my talons and planned on tearing into Lock and Snuke in a private message, but then I thought better of it. They wouldn't understand 'cause, neither of them have a truck. Oh well, maybe next time.

I had a 2015 Silverado double cab as a loaner and I felt something very similar...as quiet as the cab was, something about it was deafening when going over bumps!!? My 2014 Silverado crew cab does not make this noise/sound/feeling.

This is why I don't have Facebook. Childish comments that have zero relevance to the topic. Enough. Most of us really want this to be resolved, and opinions will not get anything it done. We are expecting our 2016 to be ready next month. My family is hopeful that the info regarding the duramat is the ticket to happiness.

Hi Ya'll, New to this forum. Test drove a new xl and got sick from the vibration puffing of air pressure . Made sure the windows were up tight. Returned to the dealership and noticed that the rear tailgate glass was not sealed tight against the gasket allowing the glass to move like a "drum". Salesman wanted to change tires and promised to fix the noise. We did not buy that car. Drove to a different dealer and test drove an xl with a tight sealed window. No noise. Bought the car. Drives like a dream...so far.

Interesting...This is the 2nd time I've heard of the back lif-gate window not being sealed and possibly the culprit. I will look at mine and see if there's anything obviously wrong with it. However, I have to believe that dealers/owners have inspected this area with ones that have been to dealer multiple times searching for a fix.

Dear ajs800, My rear glass is tight on the seal. The other glass was not tight on the seal. It had about an 1/8" of room to move until it was tight. I pressed on the glass with my finger tips. The size of the glass was about a direct match for the frequency I was hearing. Knowing what I know we will not be opening the glass on this wagon. We never have with all of our past wagons. Good luck

OK, which glass are you talking about?? Initially, you said the rear lift gate glass. Now you are saying the "rear" glass was tight and it was the "other" glass. What other glass? There is only one piece of glass in the rear lift gate, and it opens independently of he lift gate is one so desires. There is no "other" glass unless you mean the rear SIDE glass?? But it is fixed and does not open, so not sure how it could have a 1/8" gap.

Could you clarify?

Also, how did you figure the size of it (which ever one you're referring to) is "a direct match" to the frequency of the buffeting? Sounds like a complicated engineering calculation to me.

Dear Wrench, The "other" glass was the first car I test drove and did not buy. The only glass I am taking about is the rear/back glass on the rear hatch . Not a side glass or front glass. My new rear glass is sealed tight for now and I would like it to stay that way so we will not open it. We will open the whole hatch like we always have. I won't get in to the engineering of low frequency but when I heard the noise on the first test drive , I knew it was something of size that was fluttering. That is when I checked all the windows by hand and found the loose fitting REAR glass. Yes it was touching the gasket but not tight like the one I have now. I hope I am clear. I am sorry that I was not clear with you. All the best, Booty

After picking my truck up from the dealer on Friday the buffeting seems to have literally gone away. It has been there for a month (for the second time since I brought it home on 9/15/15). The vibrations had gotten so annoying from 70-80 that their GM After Sales rep brought in a GM Field Engineer to check out. The first time it was in they replaced two of my tires. This past time they replaced 3 of the 4 tires. What's funny is that the truck has been sitting on their lot for the bulk of it's life....just find it funny that tires got replaced again. The GM guy came by Friday. I told them if it was going to sit another week or so that I wanted it since I was traveling for Thanksgiving. Taking it back after Thanksgiving for them to try to get it knocked out. Honestly, the vibration is still there but nowhere near as bad. I think we are going in circles at this point but something has definitely changed with it. It drives like the truck I thought I was buying. If the 74-77mph vibration would go away I would be a happy camper.

So a good test for this would be to tape up the rear glass or maybe some weather seal or something to tighten it up I'm thinking

Dear CI , I feel that tape will not help as it will still allow the glass to move in and out. I feel that a latch and hinge adjustment is all you can hope for unless the gasket is out of spec ? Just thinking. With best regards, Booty

regular window gasket seal tape on top of the oem seal should create a tighter seal(jus for troubleshooting purposes)

I think I have right, but to date you've only had tire work done multiple times to your yukon and nothing else?

Still looking for owners in LA, Las Vegas or Detroit so we can get some additional attention to these problems. Anyone?

I'm in San Diego. Not sure if that would help you out?

Pretty sure we're the only ones to have had TWO 2015's with this problem, AND a brand new 2016 Escalade that makes all the same noises.

The media needs to get ahold of how GM KNOWS there's a serious problem here, and doing little to correct it. They sure don't have a problem keeping all their dealers lots full of them and keep on selling these POS's !

So what exactly did they do to help with the booming and buffeting sounds?
