All , i just purchased a brand new 2016 Z71 Tahoe and am getting some serious ear pressure while driving. I don't necessarily hear any noises (vibrations, etc) but feel the pressure in my ears which is leading to headaches.

Am dropping off the Tahoe tonight to the dealer and of course Service Manager told he hasn't heard of this issue.

Will/have these service bulletins release by GM that are referenced above fix the ear pressure issue? Or just targeting the vibrations and etc.? Any input would be appreciated.

Sounds like a case of "buffeting".

Does it peak at 40mph and 70mph?

^ Generally, yes. Although hard to pinpoint exactly since I've only owned the truck for a few days now. The pressure and headaches are bad though. What a nightmare.

Is there a fix for this? Does RFB help or the exhaust replacement others have mentioned?

If it's the 40mph/70mph (fading in/out as you approach and exceed those speeds), then it's likely your tires. It was for me, twice!

Luckily, GM does mandate a 15lb road force for our K2XX trucks and will correct it for you. It took 6 Continental replacements to get all mine under 15lbs.

My dealer received a TSB from GM dated Aug 28 telling them how to repair the problem. My dealer got approval to order and install a new exhaust system on my 2015 Yukon XL.

David - are you having the same pressure sensation in the cabin with headaches?

Don' t know. Parts were just ordered yesterday. Another person here said it took care of 95%. I actually traded the vehicle today for a new Yukon Xl. Mine was a 2015 and I'm getting a 2016. But I will test drive it first.

MY YUKON IS FIXED!!!!!!

I purchased my 2016 Yukon SLT on August 6th and knew as soon as I was driving it home there was an issue and my search lead to to this thread. I had the extreme buffeting noise when the truck was in V4 mode, so I was convinced it was a transmission/ harmonic balance issue. I took it back to the dealer and went through all the procedures everyone else has ..they checked the roof rails and found no issue.

They ordered new exhaust(23377840) and replaced muffler (03701-CT) per the service # 5404A. They called and said it was fixed. I went to the dealer and drove it away only to still here the EXACT same buffeting noise.

Called the dealer and spoke with the GM of the dealership. He said he would consult the GM Field Rep.
The called me 2 days later to say they ordered a ANOTHER new modified exhaust(23385911) and new muffler(03701-ct) per new bulletin PIT 5404B. I was getting very frustrated.
The had my car for a week this time (it has been a total of 23 days that they had my truck)

He called me today and said it was fixed. I had ZERO expectations.

I was all ready to start the lemon law process or ask the dealer to take the truck back.

Well, I'm happy to report the buffeting noise is 99.99999% gone. I would consider the noise I hear now just a normal sound when switching from v4 to v8.
My ears and head no longer hurt when I drive my Yukon.

I hope this helps all of you!!!!!!!!!
