So have officially heard twice now in a week.

Once from the General Manager from one dealership and again today from the service manager at another dealership.

GM has revised the body mounts on the Sierra and Yukons for 2017.

I think they know what the issue is.

My service manager seems the think that they are waiting for customer feedback on 2017s before they put out a TSB.

Anyone else hearing anything similar.

If the body mounts fix the vibration, then the buffeting should disappear.

On a side note we dropped off our January 2016 Yukon for tire replacement and exhaust dampers and was given an August 2016 Suburban.

The Suburban has 18 wheels but it is perfeft. Not a sound. No buffeting, no booming, no vibration the rode was as smooth as silk.

I'm really starting to think that the body mount on this truck are too stiff and the 22 wheels along with the crappy tires is making this worse than it really is.

This is great news if it really ends up being true and the answer. If there is a huge decrease in complaints or eliminated all together with the 17s, they must have done something different. I might have to drive a few 17s and see for myself as I've now heard from two people that have a 17 with no signs of buffeting and/or vibrations.

There are many on here that pointed to that idea (body mounts) over a year ago. Keep us posted and I'll be sure to check with my dealer as well on it.

HELLO!!

i honestly don't even know what to do at this point, they have finally found out that the noise is noticeable

While the car is in V4 mode. They have tried to reposition the exhust pipes and see if that can fix the problem. But after the car being at the dealership for about 2 weeks the problem is still there. Just talked with GM they said they well contact me soon on what to do next.

BAD NEWS yet again!!!! Took my Yukon back for the 4th time. If you remember, the last time they changed my exhaust 2 x's. The last time fixed the buffeting noise for a few weeks and it slowly crept back.
Took my Yukon back on Monday and it back today. They said it was fixed(I've heard this before)...
Here is what they did....

"Installed 23466349: SL-N-Mount
Installed 23466350 SL-N-Mount
Replaced right side motor mount first dropped to 706mg. Replace left side mount Got Pico Scope 70 and 2.5MG."
Not sure what all of it means, but what I gather they replaced the motor mount.

I picked it up from the dealer, got it up to 50 put the cruise on, vehicle went into V4 and the noise was still there. No change AT ALL.
Pisses me off when the "fix" something and take it for a minute test drive and assume it is fixed.
I am beyond tired this. This Yukon makes my ear drums feel like they are bowling in my head.
I literally can't drive it anymore.
I will be exploring the Lemon Law process.

Sorry to hear this news. Stinks. I know exactly the pain you have. It was unbearable! Headache walking into work, headache walking the in the door at home caused by the daily commute. GM repurchased both of my 2015's because of the exact issue you describe. I saw physicians and then went for a buyback. I recommend you do the same. There is plenty of precedent on this thread alone. Forget lemon law. Demand a buyback.

That's good to hear, thanks for passing along. Just curious how the updated body mounts would eliminate the cabin pressure issues?

good question, but I wonder the same thing regarding RF balancing below 15lbs being key to eliminating the buffeting. When we went with new tires and made sure they were all under 15lbs RF when balanced, our buffeting/pressure went away. If it does cure this problem, I'm sure it has something to do with vibration/noise resonating through the chassis and is magnified by the cabin/sheet metal, etc. i guess w time will tell if this is a "real" fix or not. I am almost certain as we log miles on our tires and/or once the balancing goes out a little, we'll start experiencing the same issues, which I'm not looking forward to.

Jason,

Did the dealership buy back your vehicles?? What was the process you took? I would love to hear more of the steps you took. And the Dr......what was the process for that? I already have life long documentation of migraines and this vehicles just seems to make them worse.

My service tech said the noise and vibration are inheritive (does that even make any sense?) and normal. So disappointed at the way they are approaching this. Can anybody share experiences with buyback or lemon law? I'll take it back to the shop next week and it'll be the 3rd time.

I am just so befuddled at the people whom keep buying these vehicles. The only way to wake up GM is to not buy the products.

OK now to tell you how mine were handled. The 2015 LTZ Suburban was replaced willingly by GM with a 2016. The 16 was worse than the 15. It spent 83 days in the shop the first 5 months. GM refused to make the 16 right and told me it was in my head. Well after filing Georgia Lemon Law and GM ignoring me, I then filed arbitration. They had to respond then so they got a high powered attorney out of New York and I got me a South Georgia attorney. I told my attorney to make them fly to the hearing within 50 miles of me. Within 4 days of the hearing occuring GM chickened out after demanding my vehicle for inspection (of course I was present for that per state law) they did not want me there. We never got a final inspection report copy and GM paid me a full refund and half of my attorney fees. It only cost me $127 for 9000 miles on the 16 and they had to give me back all my down payment and payments I made between the 15 and 16. I am now very happy in my Ford Expedition EL because my Sequoia ended up being too small. Oh, and I even have 22's that ride great on my Expedition from the factory unlike my Suburbans. The dealership I bought my Suburbans from also turned on me after the point because that was 2 buybacks against them. Needless to say I will never buy anything from Prince Automotive Group in South Georgia again! Their managers are cowards and like to hide behind closed doors instead of facing the customers.

WOW..what a nightmare you went through. I suppose they make it so difficult because they are hoping to beat people down so they give up.

I have another meeting with a GM Field rep on November 17th. I am waiting for the 2017's to be delivered to see if the noise is present in those.

My dealer replaced the muffler and balance the tires. Now the noise and vibrations are even worse. They are telling me this is normal and everything works as it should. Any advice on dealing with this attitutde? Thanks

Last month bought a 2016 Suburban LS 4x4, 18" wheels. No options. Build date Aug. 2016. 750 miles to date. I am not experiencing the cabin pressure/noise/buffeting issue. Either I am lucky or the problem has been resolved for the later builds.

The only thing I notice is the engine lugging in V4 mode at low RPM ~1200. Some unusual exhaust noise in V4 mode. But all seems good. Windows up or windows down it is good. Vehicle is very smooth and quiet. It loves the highway.

Demand that you would like a GM Field rep to access your Yukon.
