New bumpers! Now I have a question?

The painted bumpers were the main reason I didn't get a Denali. I didn't want the risk of chipping the bumpers to hell on the back roads. And it's not just the GMs. The Ram sports are hell on their painted bumpers too.

So far I have only spend a total of 960 bucks in upgrades to my truck. The viynl emblems I did myself, and I also removed the rear blocks myself. New wheels and tire $500, tint $30, muffler removal $30. Color matched High country bumpers pulled off a bran new truck $400! I'm glad I payed for the bumpers instead of spending the money to have mine painted.

..My question is now that I have the high country bumpers with the factory sensors. Is there a way to make them work on my LT. I am gonna guess no but just curious?

 

Everyone is commenting on the looks, but no one has addressed your question...making the sensors work with your LT truck. The sensors are part of the Y65 Driver Alert Package on my LTZ, and it includes the Front and Rear Park Assist (the sensors), Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, and Safety Alert Seat. This Option Code (Y65) is clearly marked on my Service Parts Identification tag in the glove box. I am sure there is software that enables use of these devices along with the hardware since there are settings for them.

 

I looked through the RPO Codes for the 2014 Silverado and found, UD5 which lists the Front and Rear Park Assist and UD7 as the Rear Park Assist separately. If you have any of these RPO Codes (Y65, UD5, UD7) listed in your glove box, you might be able to use the sensors - by the way you phrased the question, I don't believe your LT has them. If not, I don't think it can be added. In any event, if the software could be added, the dealer would have to do it.

I will have to check my rpo codes. I highly doubt it though.

 

I knew it prolly would not work but it would be neat if I could make it work somehow.
