GM will stop using payload rating tricks

Yeah I realized that the actually payload is about 200# less on the door sticker than it is on the website. I think I've had about 300# over the max once if that is the case but, it was just a 15 min ride across town with a pallet of mulch in the bed.

I don't care what a manufacturer says about payload anyways. I have always weighed my trucks and used that weight for the curb weight rather than get caught over weight in the middle of winter on a mountain pass with a load of sleds and gear.

Payload sucks on my truck. I really don't think it is much better than my old Tacoma. I could have fixed up my old 3/4 ton ram real nice for what I am going to lose when I get rid of this silverado after less than 6 months of owning it. I think I probably could have carried my silverado on top of the bed of that beast.

Well, there is a difference between a 3/4 ton and a 1/2 ton.

Yep, I downsized to get better fuel economy and a reliable new truck with reasonable payload and towing capacity. But I get stuck with basically a lemon that does not even come close to living up to the manufacturer claims. There is also a difference between this 1/2 ton and a little tacoma. But the payload on my old tacoma was very close to what this silverado can carry. But the jump up from a chevy 1/2 ton to a dodge 3/4 ton is a huge one. Much bigger than I ever expected.
