AC limited cooling.

Take it up a notch. Start with the rep who monitors this forum and call the service manager.

Another idea is to buy a little thermometer to check the outlet temp, snap a pic, and email it to them.

You would think a dealership tech could dig a little deeper.

At the dealer now. Going for a ride with the shop Forman. Funny, even the advisor said it seems weird that it's not cooling correctly.

Ok, well drove with the Shop Forman and he confirmed that it's as I said it was. So now they are taking vent temp readings and pressure readings and are opening a case with GM Tech.

Stay tuned...

So I got a call from the dealer. They spoke to GM tech line and they suggested that they add .4 oz more of 134a and compare it to another new truck. The advisor said that the pressures were the same between both trucks. Hold on here for a minute. If they added more 134a even .4 the pressures would go up on the low and high side, so I am not buying this one. Getting pissed now!!!

I would monitor vents temps as the refrigerant is added. Not every system is exactly the same. It could be you need the additional for proper operation. See where it goes. When I charge, I charge by weight and vent temps, while monitoring pressures. Some systems I have even put in less than the sticker suggests because the vent temps were starting to climb due to overcharge

FWIW I used an Infrared thermometer (craftsman) on my vent today. It was 92 outside and my vent was showing 38 degrees on auto (high). This was about 10 minutes after starting and driving. Did they tell you what the temp was at the vents?

Ok, so I inquired with the Forman about the pressures before they added an additional quater pound of 134a. I got a huh.... Let me check. Dude you are the Shop Forman, you should know!

They could not tell me more than likely that they did not do it! They went on to say that they checked a brand new truck right next to mine after the additional charge, pressures were the same, 34 on the low side and 210 on the high side. So this is my deduction.

They need to check the weight scale for the refrigerant tank on their AC machine, for one because I think the system was low in my truck from the start. It's a sad day when I need to tell the dealer how to diagnosis my truck.

It's kicking a$$ now! I measured 37 at the vents after 7 minutes of driving. I bought a infrared gun.

All fixed...... And I need to find a new dealer!
