quadrasteer owners help!

I'm doing loads of research on quadrasteer right now and I'd love to hear from some guys that have them or had them. I have recently seen a Suburban 2500 where I live with quadrasteer and so I'm just curious about them. What kind of production numbers are there? Any really rare ones?

2002-2005 was when they were made. For the yukon xl and suburban they were 2003-2005. They seem pretty hard to find. I was looking for an 05 gmc yukon xl quadrasteer in black with no luck. So they can be hard to find

Did they ever make them for the HD trucks or diesels?

Quadrasteer vehicles in general are rare. I think there were 5 or 6000 made. There were some in diesels and other HDs I believe. Some in the big SUVs and of course half ton pickups, many in Denali's. They are easy to spot since they are wider in the rear and have the extra "dually" lights.

 

As far as the system itself it takes maintenance just like anything else. It will most likely need worked on at some point, there are electric and hydraulic components. It's a shame it never caught on, to my knowledge they're the only passenger vehicles to have this feature, at least recently. Porsche uses "rear wheel steering" in the new 911's but it is mainly for use at speed and doesn't have the articulation that QS does or the practical use. Quadrasteer shortens the turning radius by about 25%.

Yeah its a cool idea that just never took off! I read recently that Acura is using a similar system in their new flagship model

No diesels. The largest engine in at least a truck with it was a 6.0

A friend of mine found a diesel with QS, must have had the diesel put in after it left the factory. I have seen 1 Chevy, 1 Denali, and 1 Yukon locally with 4 wheel steer. I see a few rolling on the highway but not many.

I dont think you could get them in the 2500HD. The reason being, the rear isnt a full floater. You could get it in the Denali, c2500 burb/XL, 1500HD, and possibly the light 25

I would stay away from the quadrasteer. Very expensive when need parts. Have seen and drove a few back in the day. Jmo

130K on my 2004, never had one problem. I did find a service kit online for the future however...

58,500 on my 2004 sierra Denali. No problem with Q steer. Book says always keep it on. Don't want to live without it. No new truck for me unless it has Q steer!

Both those pickups you linked are "Light 25's". Non-HD 2500's. I did say possibly light 25's had it.
