Stop order on z71 Tahoes

I'm not sure if this is in the right section, but here it is: I was at the dealership today looking at a very nice 03 z71 Tahoe and was complaining a bit about not being able to find the Tahoe with the options that I want. The head finance guy (not sure on his correct title) told me that Chevy put a "stop production order" on the z71s (tahoe only). He said that it was most likely due to the lack of a z71 specific part from one of GM's suppliers, but he wasn't sure. I was thinking that he was throwing me a line of BS so that I would move on the Tahoe. What do you guys think?

That is a good possibillity. There are parts that are specific to the Z71 Tahoe only, and if the parts aren't available, then they can't build them... (like the special 17" rims)

When I bought my HD after they first came out there was a constraint on the polished Aluminum rims and an "LT" model was very hard to find, because those wheels were part of the "LT" package.
