Vibration / Clunk

Recommended Posts

2014 Chevy Silverado LTZ. I have noticed a slight vibration on the gas petal well accelerating at low speeds as the transmission shift. When your heavy on the gas you don't notice it but if driving in a residential area it really stands out.

I have also noticed a clunk from the rear end after I have come to a complete stop.

My wife thinks I'm crazy but I thought I would ask if anyone else is experienceing the same issues. I love the truck other than these 2 issues.

Haven't noticed any vibration with my truck, but I definitely have that clunk you're talking about. Sounds like something is bouncing around in the bed.

Lots of people with the vibration problems on here. The rear end "clunk" was a common problem on the GMT-900's, I thought they had fixed that on the K2XX's though.

Left rear was .75 ounce too heavy at one spot, had 1.25 oz weight, needed .50oz to be perfect. Right rear was dead on. Didn't change a thing. The tech that checked it I've known for 25'ish years, very good. He suggested, since this is a known problem to wait a couple of months to see if GM figures it out. 99% of the time I drive under 60MPH, vibration doesn't start until 63MPH. Ok...I'll wait.

I took my 2014 GMC 1500 A/T (6.2 motor) in for its first oil change last week ... 4,200 miles. Also to have them do the recall of the 4x4 selector, and... to check out what I feel is play in the rear end, u-joints, or... trans. (We got the wife a last year (Black Diamond) Avalanche, and it shifts like butter, no matter what.)

My GMC trans is no where near as smooth... feels 'clunky' on upshifts, mostly at normal driving. Dealer changed the oil, rotated tires, did the recall work, and checked out my concern with a clunky trans. No problem found. Something isn't right in the driveline. No way my truck should shift like that an my wife's Avay shift like butter. I sold a 2012 Tundra to get this GMC ... and sometimes I wonder if I made the right choice.
