Help quick! Need a price!

I went to look at a truck the dealer ordered in for me yesterday. It is a 2014 sierra slt all terrain package... Sticker price is $56,040.

We ran some numbers and my price tax in (10%) is $52,019. That accounts for $3000 cash incentives, $1500 Pontiac loyalty, $1500 60 mth finance incentive, $750 student rebate, and then an extra $2000 off. So really the truck is $47,290 + tax.

Is this a good deal or not? I feel like I could get them to throw in a spray in bedliner at least.

Please only constructive advise. No saying "oh my god $50,000 for a truck!?" Or "you get screwed on price in Canada", yes we already know that.

Your talking roughly 8-9k off seems like a good deal. Comparison is hard though specially when your talking two different countries. Even different states and regions will have different pricing. Your best bet is to try a different dealer and bounce that price off.

I've been searching around online trying to find another dealer with a truck very similar. There aren't many all terrains around but ill keep looking.

$8750 is a pretty strong discount, that is better than what they are offering our area. It's possible deals will get better as they try to move all the 2014's, but you might not be able to find a truck you like.

I just purchased a 2014 SLE and after it was all said and done I received about $7000 off sticker plus a set of running boards. Your deal seems fair and I would snag it. :)

Who's the dealer your working with?

I think the "student discount" is the recent grad discount right? I could be wong.

You're correct - usually it last for 2 years after grad. My dealer says everyone is a recent grad. I know I got it last year - after 12 years.

I'm working with Key gm in Yorkton Saskatchewan.

And yes I graduated a couple years ago. I think the salesman said it's available within 4 years of graduation.

In terms of getting prices from other dealers, should I try to find the exact truck, or just another truck that is pretty much the exact price?

Yeah, I thought so. I got it when I purchased my truck and I'm still going to school. Working full-time and going in the evenings is a PITA.

Ah Key - the hometown. They're good to deal with - not bull shit. Don't waste their time and they won't waste yours thinking.

I actually used their price as a baseline for my dealer in Saskatoon. Got a price from key one weekend when I was visiting the parents, but wanted to by local so told my dealer here to beat it or I'll go visit the folks again and buy there.

In searching for my truck, I found the only dealer that would come close to no dicker pricing was Mainline. But key beat them.

I think it's a fair price. Get them to throw in a spray in, and undercoat the body with a set of their HD rubber mud flaps and call it a deal.

I've talked to mainline about a similarity priced truck... They're willing to go $49900 tax in. Waiting to hear back from Key and Standard motors in Swift Current.
