Question Regarding USB Audio

I am fairly computer literate but cannot figure out what I am doing wrong.

I have a 64gig USB card with an extremely well organized music library. Covers, playlists, everything perfectly up to date including personal ratings.

Using windows media player or even windows explorer for that matter I copy everything over to USB. This works great!!!! Everything plays in the truck great.

Now my issue

I want my playlists. No matter what I do, I cannot get playlists to appear in the truck. When I create them in media player and/or iTunes they work great. Cannot get them to appear in truck. What software are you guys using to do this?

I am not looking to only copy the playlist either. I want all my music on the USB as I am doing and then I want to be able to select a playlist that I have created. (Country hits, rock, 90's, 80's etc.)

Try an SD card. Also make sure the card isn't a lot bigger than what you need. Ex: - all your music is 7GB... make sure the card is 8GB ... not 32GB.

yep - playlist as m3u. i use vlc to do it.

my 2010 recognized my folders on my usb which was much simpler. now i keep a copy of my thumb drive on the computer... i'll add songs there, occasionally updating the playlists and re-copy everything to my thumb drive for use in the truck.

i do folders by genera (rock, country, oldies, etc) but then also have a folder for new (which is songs i've recently added) and favorites. these last two help make it quicker to find my current favorite songs to play instead of browsing through 100's of tracks in the big genera folders. i do'nt find the touch screen easy to use while driving and the keypad on the steering wheel just takes too long to navigate through the song lists. using the playlists is the best compromise i've found so far.

Anyone who uses an iPod or even a USB stick have like a 2 second delay when switching to the next song? I'll use the steering wheel controls, and it takes that long to change, and I really have to make sure I push the button all the way in.

Anyone else?

Do you mean thumbdrive or SD card? On my 2014 I have mine organized in folders on my thumbdrive (USB stick) and while the truck will sort music by embedded tags (author, album, genre), etc. It will not provide an option where I can navigate to a 'country' list and then an 'alan jackson' list and then through all available alan jackson albums (for example) Instead, I have to make sure all country music is tagged country in their tags and all albums are tagged by their album name, and then I can scroll through all of my music (rock, r&b, country, oldies, etc.) looking for artist I'm searching for. So, instead of having one choice for Alan Jackson and when selected I'll see only Alan Jackson's stuff, I have to scroll through ALL music on the drive to find him. Fortunately he's near the top. Now if I want to listen to Zac Brown Band, it's a long way to the bottom.

Yes the delay after hitting buttons to switch tracks drives me crazy.

Yes I use a thumb drive. I use the genera folders for my own organization. I make playlist for anything I want a shortcut to... Because yes browsing through a ton of tracks sucks on this radio.
