Spark plug wires coming off while driving?

Yeah it does hurt but it will never happen unless your wire is damaged and you can see it arcing, just use some common sense. You've never adjusted the timing on a running engine before?

By the time I turned 16 you couldn't do that anymore. Haha

My 18 with Tahoe 19k miles was running really rough/shaking like driving over rumble strips. Looked under the hood and noticed cylinder 3 plug wire shaking at idle.. Sure enough the wire was loose and came right off the plug. I was able to put it back on and it clicked. For the life of me I cant figure out how it came off. Never had this happen to a car. I was also noticing a ticking sound in that general area before this happened and still here it from time to time but the wire is securely on the plug. No engine like when it occurred.
