OCD and me are old friends. Lol.

It's worst when it comes to cars and trucks. My old trucks came with dual exhaust when I got them used so when I got my '14 not only being way to quiet bothered me but having the one exhaust tailpipe killed me. But, OCD does help me keep checking on my tire pressures on a weekly basis, so it's not just for proper tire wear and all, it's my OCD also lol.

I do agree that the tailgate looks off balance with just the all terrain badge, but I suggest to take it off and put a new one under the tailgate handle where the GMC badge was. It's my OCD lol.

Thanks guys. Yea my buddy i was with suggested the moving of the all terrain to under the handle but if you look at the truck from the side, I feel like the placement of the other all terrain badges (front corners of front doors) compliments the corner placement of the rear badge :)

Removed the ugly GMC with fishing line hair dryer and goo gone.

Did the same to my white Denali only I removed the Sierra emblem as well, leaving only the Denali chrome emblems on the door sides and lower rear corner of the tailgate. Enough said!

Used two small tie wraps connected to make a circle to get behind the edge of the emblems once warmed with blow dryer, peeled it back and away gently, then removed adhesive with some goof-off remover then applied a coat of wax resulting in no evidence of them ever having been there. 20-minute job.

I would like to have Black Silverado emblems for my doors and tailgate but cannot find them anywhere and I wont do the Plastidip thing, I cant even get Emblem Pros to give me a price....lol

Exactly! It's personal preference. If you "don't get" debadging, that's ok ... you don't have to. That's why these trucks come with different options and colors - everyone has different tastes and needs.

I always debadge. Just looks cleaner, IMO and easier to detail w/o all the labels in the way.

My previous truck I had for the last 18 years, bought new in 1996.

The new truck looked like this 3 weeks ago on the lot:

Had the dealer remove the stripes and here's how she looks now. (Undecided about the bowtie - think the black looks ok for now. Also still have Silverado on the sides)

Is your truck the Rally Edition?, Im wondering because my stripes look the same on my Rally and ive been thinking of removing the stripes on the tailgate and leaving them as is on the hood...

Yes, it's the Rally 1 Edition. I thought about leaving the stripes on the hood but decided to have the dealer remove those as well since the tailgate stripes had to go.

If I remove mine they are only coming off the tailgate, I think they look good on the hood and so do other people considering the amount of comments I get on this truck but your truck looks real clean with the stripes removed on the tailgate, thats why I am considering it, but I wonder if it will hurt trade in or resale value because when you go to sell it or trade it they are gonna wonder what happened to the stripes and most likely deduct for that....

Any mod can hurt resale value unless you find someone with the exact same taste as you. Ever tried to or seen someone try to sell a heavy modified car or truck? It's hard and you don't get nearly the money back that you put into it. Technically every mile you drive it will hurt resale since the more miles you put on a vehicle the less it will be worth. I wouldn't worry about resale value, especially when it's still a new truck. Just do what you think looks best. If everybody worried about resale value then there would be 0 aftermarket products and everybody would be driving around in stock cars and trucks.

If Taking off those stripes did anything, it helped resale. Those didn't belong on a truck.

I was just asking, but yes I do know if someone modifys their car or truck it does take away from trade in value because not everyone wants something thats modified and I wwas wondering because I may trade my truck next fall on a new Vette but that decision hasnt been made as of yet.

well I guess thats your opinion because if not everyone liked them then Chevy wouldnt have built and sold the trucks with them on there, I just wish they had left them off the tailgate but as for the hood, they look good on there.

Agreed. But they're stickers and removing them isn't going to hurt resale. No one would know they were ever there I'm sure. But there will always be a segment of buyers who are drawn to anything stuck on to a vehicle. Whether it's badges, hood scoops, or "racing" stripes.

    • Those can be high, as well as the big California cities. The ones that will pop your eyes out are the 395 corridor on the Eastern side of the Sierra Nevadas. Lee Vining, $7.19 for regular and $8.89 for diesel is what the Google said right now.
    • Correct.  2019-2021 model years are serviced by a different p/n.  19420611.  Recall 2021s use 19420611.   The recall engines 2022-2024 model years are serviced with 12740076.     The difference between 19420611 and 12740076 is GM changed injector size for 2022.  The injectors are smaller on 12740076 with smaller injector bores in the cylinder heads to match the smaller injectors.  So you can't install a 19420611 in a 2022-2024, and you can't install a 12740076 in a 2019-2021.     Both engines are the replacement engine p/ns that are in the L87 recall.  So both of these are the updated engines.     Here's a version of the L87 recall with the p/ns for all the parts needed.    RCRIT-25V274-7075.pdf   Note it shows 19420611 and 12740076 with an asterisk to a footnote "Use the VIN and the GM Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) to determine which part to order if two or more part numbers are listed for the same part, as it may vary by vehicle options."
    • Looking for advice from this group. Took my flawless 2020 6.2 TB to an unnamed shop for routine rear brakes and oil change. Tech forgot to put oil back in after the full service and needles to say, destroyed my engine.  It’s all on their shop video so they are responsible.   I had my Chevy dealer do the analysis and they confirmed its compromised and said engine replacement. The manager said they only get GM reman engines from GM with full 3 yr warranty and the one they would put in is not same as what’s they are swapping out on 21-25 for recall.    I am looking for advice why that would be a different engine because obviously I had the good 6.2 year and replacing it has my concerns with that recall for 21-15   Also what’s the pros and cons of accepting the engine swap vs telling the shop that bricked the truck to pay up so I buy a new truck. I’m concerned about stigma resale eventually if I just decide to get rid of it after the swap or other issues showing up after the swap out.
    • Just looked up my records.  I've never gone over 5000 miles between oil changes.  At 46K miles, I have 10 oil changes.  I hope that will help.  I also installed the disabler last year.  I've still had a few times when it didn't seem to engage (which I can tell because the start stop feature kicks in), but for the most part, I think it's working.  For some reason, GM did not include the number of cylinders running in the information screen like I had on other models.  In my Cadillac, it shows me when it's running on 4 cylinders on the fuel milage screen.  I can't find that on my '21 Denali.
