Agreed. But they're stickers and removing them isn't going to hurt resale. No one would know they were ever there I'm sure. But there will always be a segment of buyers who are drawn to anything stuck on to a vehicle. Whether it's badges, hood scoops, or "racing" stripes.

alright.

It may or may not. Like the other guy said a MOD can hurt resale, doesnt mean it will but it might. Just like a mod doesnt increase value. I think it depends on what your talking to, are you talking about a used truck thats 6-7 years old with 90k on it, probably not to be said. But if your talking about a 2-3 year old car it might. Me personally If I noticed everything removed i probably move on from the buying for two reasons. 1. I dont like the look, but I could buy them and put back on. 2. The bigger issues I have is, what else has been removed or changed? I dont like to buy items that have been modded from people as Im not against modding but I dont know whats been done or how its been done.

Goo gone is superior to all solvents. Done dozens of debadges, removes spray paint surface rust etc

If I were shopping for used ........I would see the bare tailgate with no badges and think that it might of been in an accident and the tailgate was replaced cheaply...........and I would avoid the purchase just in case. ...just saying

Being in the car business for the past 16 years as a Paintless Dent Repair guy I have seen plenty of cars and trucks with the emblems removed or replaced. Some wholesale guys will even change out a LS for a LT and try to make the car something it isn't, even adding a spoiler to a trunk car change the appearance of a particular car and in the heat of bidding at a auction guys will bid on something and buy it only to find out later what the car actually is. Back in the day there was a guy that was good at making the pinstripe on a Ford expedition to resemble a Eddie Bauer when all it was just a Expedition with leather and a factory looking stripe. For me I like all the extra stuff off the cars and trucks , a cleaner look , sometimes less is more...

I can't say that I have ever really thought about resale value on any of my vehicles. I'm going to mod it how I like it. Life is too damn short to worry about a little bit of money when I have to drive it every day.

I'm going to give it a try this weekend. I don't mind the Chevy emblem on my tailgate. I just don't like the huge "Silverado" on the doors and tailgate. Thanks guys. I was worried the backs of the letters might have some pegs that go into tiny holes like on my Lexus.

Badges have just grown out of control. I won't leave a dealership with their advertisements on it and that's all this junk is the manufacturers advertisements. As soon as they give me a kick-back for being a billboard I'll leave all their junk on it. E85, SLT, Sierra, GMC, GM, etc it's junk. Bad thing is we've been trained to get so used to it that it looks odd to some without it. Makes me think of the movie Idiocracy where they have like 16 TV screens, the center one is playing a show of some sort and the rest are ads.

I know my truck is a GMC, I know it's a SLT, I know it's a Sierra and 4wd. I guess at least they've haven't gone the way of the Ford yet and mashed that massive oval into the tailgate or a MASSIVE TUNDRA into it.

As a side note I've always sold my vehicles myself. When I de-badge I keep them all and give them (or at least offer them) to the new owner because I get that some get skiddish that it's maybe had body work. It isn't proof but I think helps. Besides, most that wouldn't even contact me because they're gone are more than likely only comfortable buying from a dealer anyway. Really if you're worried about it the emblems are cheap, order replacements and slap them back on.

I keep telling myself to get rid of the letters, but there I am..........AGAIN, cleaning in between them. Glutton for punishment I guess. Maybe I'd leave the little LT on the tailgate but IMO, everything else can go and wouldn't change the "good look" of these trucks in the least.

I already replaced the grille emblem with an American Brother Designs color matched one. Against the honey comb it looks awesome! IMO, of course. The OEM bowtie color looks OK on some colors, but on mine, I don't think so. If the tailgate bowtie was a bit smaller, I think it would be OK. It's just too darn big. So it's coming off too.

I replaced the full grille emblem and just the insert on the tailgate bowtie (so the chrome trim separates them) and since I plan on keeping this truck until it's done I think I made a good decision on replacing them with actual aluminum bowties instead of just plastidipping. I got mine from autoanything and you can get exact color matches and with black you can get either matte powder coat or gloss like I got.
