Unplugged/Plugged In air flow sensor - Check Engine Light

So I have a 5.3L CC and in an attempt to upgrade the headlights I foolishly unplugged the air flow sensor while removing the air filter cover and box. Got the lights installed (Phillips 65w 5011's), box/filter/and sensor assembled and turned the truck on to pull it into the garage and low and behold dash is showing the check engine light. Additionally the truck sounds a bit throatier/deeper if that makes sense.

My question is if this is something that can be reset by say disconnecting the battery for a bit, or is a dealer trip in order? I can't imagine I did anything serious here, but I'd rather not screw something up by missing something obvious that I should or should not do. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

In cases like this, i usually just unplug the battery. I don't know enough about these trucks, but as long as the problem is gone., the light should reset itself after a few starts.

If you got a check engine light then you have let something unplugged. I unplugged my MAF and never got a light on the dash. Check and make sure everything is plugged in firmly.

I'll recheck the MAF plug after the kids go to bed. I know it clicked in, but whether or that means that contact was made is a different story. Hopefully I didn't knock one of the wires loose in the connectors or something stupid like that.

Thanks for the support guys! Not that its life altering or anything but it does kinda suck to consider as I have to get a couple of kids to school, and a wife to a drs appt tomorrow.

And I am a complete and total dumb*$$. Wasn't the MAF or needing to reset the error codes - forgot to tighten down the hose clamp holding the hose to the air cleaner top. :dunno: Well, I can live with the ego ding for an easy fix. Thanks for the help guys.

If you unplug the MAF and turn the key to acc before plugging it back in them it will throw a code. Just unhook the battery for a couple minutes to clear it
