New 'stall' recall for Silverado

I read this in my 10-6-2014 local newspaper - any info on this? Waiting for GM to notify owners can take months.

 

General Motors is recalling about 117,000 2013 and ’14 model vehicles for a defect that could cause them to stall: Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, Traverse, Express, Silverado; Cadillac CTS, Escalade, Escalade ESV; GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, Acadia, Savana and Sierra; Buick Enclave. GM will notify owners.

Eh not quite. Only affects OLD body HD trucks. All bolded below are GMT-900 products.

My dad told me something about that this weekend. He said something about "metal shavings in the BCM." Uh.. how do you have metal shavings in the bcm exactly? Are they sitting with the cases off next to a grinder?

 

GM has had a long history of problems with the BCM, but I did not think they had anything to do with the vehicle running. My old 2000 camaro's BCM had cracks in the solder that would make the radio and interior lights go out when yuo hit a bump.
