So I've ordered my 2015 LTZ...

NKC Active Noise Cancellation
1 - Included and only available with (L86) 6.2L V8 EcoTec3 engine.

I may be mistaken, but I think the Noise Cancelling System is a different RPO ("NKC"). I have my build sheet and there's no mention of that code with my 7-speaker Bose package ("UQA"). On either the options added, or the standard equipment.

Edit: I think I see it as a subnote on the UQA package... But only required when ordered with a 6.2L, which mine isn't... Guess we'll see. Is yours a 5.3L? Can you check for that NKC code on your RPO sticker in the truck?

But... We can get a driver's side handle?! FFS, sign me up!

You're right, no NKC on my 5.3 That's OK for me though as the truck is so darn quiet anyway. I may still be it's a Bose agreement thing that the sub is not available. Bose is sticky on their sound. Aftermarket will fill in the gap though.

Here's the tan handle: http://www.shopchevyparts.com/interior/2014-silverado-1500-assist-handle-package-shale/23135700-p-92279760.html

And a grey one if that's the color you need: http://www.shopchevyparts.com/interior/2014-silverado-1500-assist-handle-package-light-gray/23135699-p-92279759.html

For $35 this handle is a no brainer. Easy to install too!

Afterthought.... I wonder if you can get parts to add NKC to a pickup? Not that interested, but someone might be. I'm betting it's software only.

That's what I'm hoping for. They are still dodging me when I ask for the build order #. Even GM themselves told me it should have been available after they entered it, but the salesman ignored my call and voicemail on his cell, and the only way I got him on the phone was through the dealership's front desk. He claims he won't get the order # until it's put into 3000 status. But at that point, if there's something wrong on the sheet, it's too late. I asked him to get it anyways, and he never called me back.

But I will try to stay positive...

You salesman needs to tell you how he checks the status without an order number. (since the order number is what they use to look up the event code)

What it doesn't have is a VIN, until later in the process.

Your salesman is FOS.

Completely agree. Apparently my dealership is big enough that they have a whole separate office team that does the order entry and tracking. And "they" won't give it to the salesman until it's in 3000 status.

...which I agree, is total BS. But there's nothing I can do about it except bitch, and the couple attempts I have made turned up nada. He never calls me back. It doesn't help that my salesman is the manager of fleet sales, and that he's always busy. I'm just going to take a step back and let the process work itself out.

If the build order is messed up, I have a printout from their AutoBook order system showing exactly what I ordered, and I'll refuse delivery. That's all I can do for now.

Kinda happy I have this forum for my sanity. I appreciate all the feedback.

Honestly, I don't think any but the most premium of noise cancellation systems (the type of thing found in an Aston Martin or Jaguar) are worth a dollar of your time.

It's likely either software to use the OnStar microphone tied into the HMI module somehow, or a separate module that plugs into the CanBUS. Either way I'd say it's not worth it to add on. However I definitely see the benefits in removal... namely, aftermarket stereo options. I personally can instantly notice the drop off of low-end response from the Bose 6.5" sub driver. It's noticable in my 2012, and the 2015 I tried out had the same limitations (handiness of having some music loaded on your phone at the dealership!). The problem is the geometry of the woofer is just too small to support deep frequencies properly. a 10" or larger driver will pick these up. Hence why I want the Kicker add-on. Worse comes to worse, I replace the driver with something better, but I have the framework in place to keep it "like stock".

In any amount, I'm going to look into that handle. Question: Does it obstruct your view out the windshield or side-view mirror? I won't really know what color to buy until I see the truck. I'd assume it's gray. I got the H3C: "Dark Ash with Jet Black Interior Accents" interior trim code on my truck. Mostly because they told me it was a rare option, and I thought that sounded special. Or something.

The handle adds no additional width at all to the forward view of the (already wide) A pillar for the driver. The Handle comes out directly at the driver, so it doesn't change the field of view at all. The handle is quite visible though, and it might distract until you get used to it being there. Took me about 1 day, and now I don't notice it while driving.

Cool, thanks. That sounds good to me, I always hated using the wheel as a pull-up bar.

That's what I thought the wheel was for! :driving:

Handle is dealer installed anyway: E5D NEW! LPO, Interior driver assist handle, (dealer-installed)

If you're wanting to install aftermarket pillar gauges, they likely fasten in the same place.

Well I have an update on my order. Or lack thereof. I took the time to drive down to the dealership as I got tired of the phone games.

Come to find out they didn't even put the order in their system. They took my deposit just fine, took the signed retail order, and threw it into a pile of paperwork for the last two weeks. Didn't even touch it.

This is MacMulkin Chevrolet in Nashua, NH. A giant dealership that I expected a lot more from, quite frankly. I went in and talked to another salesman who told me I should have had an order number right away and called up to their business office to find it, and then was told it doesn't exist. That's when my salesman finally showed up and stumbled through his reasoning as to where the order was. Busted isn't even close to what this was. I got promised an order number by tomorrow morning. I swear if that call doesn't come through I'm marching down there and canceling the order and going to another dealership.

So much for every dealership salesteam not screwing with you.

If you buy a GM make sure to get it from a good dealer to deal with because you will be back a lot getting it worked on like the rest of us!

I finally was given an order number. However, this order doesn't show up on the Chevrolet.com tracking page. I assume there may be a delay? Anyone know anything about that?
