Yes,the 275/55 18 would be a good 1.5 inches smaller diameter than the factory size. I was wanting a little bigger. According to the calculator 275/65 18 is about half inch taller half inch wider.

I have the 275/70/18 and mileage didn't suffer much at all, and I have a 2" level.

Just did a 5 hour drive yesterday and averaged 18.5 with most of it being at 75 mph

 

Power didn't suffer either.

hey guys, i have the shop putting these on today around noon. from what i've read, im thinking blackwalls out and 40 PSI front 36 PSI rear cold?

I went white walls out and i love it. And thats about the pressure I run as well.

I am running 38 and 36 currently.

Just picked it up, had them go with stock 275/55/20 sizes and 40 psi front 38 psi rear. Is it weird that coming from stock SR-A tires the KO2s feel flat? Should I jack up the PSI? It just feels really slow/grippy off the line and harder to turn, also a noticeable sound increase at cruising speed.

That is weird. Mine feel great. Maybe just play with the pressure a bit. It took me a while to get mine down the way i wanted.

These are much quieter than the KO's i had before.

You'll find the sweet spot. Just may take some time.

I have 18s but run 40 all the way around and they don't feel odd nor look squashed. In my case it's a 10 ply tire.. the stiff sidewall helps lol.

Just received this response after reaching out to BFG...

 

I asked (they knew it was a 2014 GMC Sierra from the questionnaire):

 

I just put BFG KO2s 275/55/20's on my truck and have no idea what PSI to go with. My truck is the 4WD Crew Cab Short Bed, I am currently running them @ 39 in the front and 37 in the back cold (compared to the 32 PSI my stock P tires called for) and they still feel kind of flat. Any suggestions?

 

They answered:

 

Drew, I will be happy to assist you. When installing a different size than the original equipment tire, all vehicle manufacturer specifications must be maintained. The replacement tire should be inflated to provide the same load capability of the original tire size at the manufacturer’s recommended pressure.

The original tire size can hold 2,105 lbs at 32 psi.

The new tire will need to meet or exceed the weight. We recommend that the new All-Terrain KO2 LT275/55R20 use 50 psi to hold 2,270 lbs.

So basically whatever the load rating is on the door jam compared to the spec chart on their website is what the correct psi should be run then.

That was my bad, I looked and couldn't find it. May have been Nitto I had looked at. But one of them had a load chart.

Has anyone put the KO2 on a 305/65/18 with a level? I know a member here had the original KOs at that size on stock wheels. According to BFG tire specs, the KO2 measures a little shorter, so I'm thinking it should fit.

+1....I'm interested in this answer as well. After searches on this forum and the "other" forum, I've found a few pics of 2014+ leveled with 305/65r18 on stockers, but there wasn't any information provided about rubbing, power loss, mpg, or ride quality.

 

Coming in at 33.5" tall and 12" wide, it should fit especially since BFGs run narrow and squared off with little sidewall bulge. Would like some confirmation though before I drop $1200 on a set!!

I just drove 6 hours in the storm yesterday.

 

My impressions of the tires are this. Really good in snow, so so in slush, not great on ice. Ultimately, I'd say they are as good as dedicated winter tires, but not as good as top of the line dedicated winter tires. I had brand new Yokohama ice guard ig51v's last year and they were better than the K02's in all snow conditions I've faced so far.

 

Having said that, the fact that they are as good as most winter tires (except the better ones) is good enough for me! Pretty amazing really for an All-Terrain.

Hey. Finally got my KO2's in a 275/65-20 size. Only a few hundred k so far but really like em. Almost as smooth as the shitty ass sra's. Will post pics soon.

Any issues those are one of the two I was looking at. Either 275/65/20s or the 285/65/20s id like to go with the 285s being they would be a little wider but not as wide as the 33-12.5s. What are your thoughts about fitting since you have the 275/65/20s? Will there be enough room? Think the 275s are 34.1 and 10.5 wide and the 285s are 34.5 and 11.2 wide. Edited by Steeks

    • Hey guys, sorry for the confusison about this. This wasn't my experainnce, it was copied and pasted fom the net. 
    • The problem with failure rates or increase failures are there’s people who don’t have a problem. What are you doing wrong they say. We had 4 5.7 GM diesel’s in the family when they came out. One was flawless. My uncle who happened to be the most abusive. Early rotary engines were known to use oil. I abused my first car so bad in six months I replaced the clutch, transmission and rear end. It didn’t use oil. My brother in law has a 2013 Tahoe and an older Yukon. The Yukon has 280K miles. The Tahoe around 175K. He runs them to about 300K. If his lifters fail before that time he would consider it a failure. My Hondas, I know people hate it when I mention them. Identical engines. One with cylinder deactivation one doesn’t have it. One shudders when the eco light goes on or off. Cylinder deactivation. But wait! According to the web. It can happen with lock up too. So now people in the know are changing the oil and transmission fluid more often. Then you read it could be a programing issue. So what do you do? There’s lots of money involved. I see three ways to deal with it. One only works if you don’t drive lots of miles. Lease, never get out of warranty. Or only buy older vehicles with a good track record. They all have bad runs. Usually when there’s a change. Even Toyota and Honda. 
    • Question @diyer2 on this line if you please. Are you saying the shudder is the system turning on and off at the frequency of the shudder? Guess I'm asking if you are saying you have seen it do this with the bi-direction scan tool in graph mode? If so have you been able to discern the 'trigger'. Something is telling to cycle rapidly.    My truck just started doing this recently. 197K on the clock. My response has been M5 anything under 55 mph. I treat it like a lugging stick shift. Gear down and let it spin a bit. Engauge M5, then tow mode and then M6 lets the trans stay in 5th but the AFM is active. Smooth like Skippy.    My thought was that as a machine ages the friction gets lower and as the system is load based, the lower friction would allow it to turn on at ever lower rpm until it reaches the lugging point. And yes I am ignorant of any minimum rpm requirement for the system. If you know that would be useful information.    As you know I run a Scan-Gauge II which allows me to watch the On/Off of the signal to the VLOM. While in the shudder mode I'm not seeing is cycle at that frequency or at all for that matter outside the triggers @newdude posted a few years back. Now is it possible that the refresh rate isn't fast enough to catch it? Maybe. It is why I asked my first question about graphing and trigging parameter.     As we have observed from members here the failure point is all over the map miles wise as you note yourself in your opening post. That by itself begs a few questions like fellows that comment on these lifters failing even after the system has been disabled.     • UPDATE 2: Steering wheel control backlights and control of the cluster can supposedly be achieved by adding a wire to pin 20 of the cluster and tapping it to pin 2 of the main clock spring harness. I'm going to give it a shot - will update  
    • GM Global A pickups 2019-2022 can do OTA programming for the radio.  GM VIP (GM Global B) can do OTAs for almost every module on board.  So a 2022.5 and newer pickup can do OTAs for recalls like the 2.7 fuel flow recall.  EVs get OTAs that improve one pedal driving, radio issues, HVAC issues, updated battery management software, etc.     So age of the vehicle/what GM electrical platform its on will alter what amount of updates can be pushed on OTAs.
