Storing tires?

Found an awesome deal in my hometown for 295/55/20 Trail Grapplers with 200miles on them and 250$ a tire. Storing the tires in the storage shed until i could get my leveling shocks on my truck and wear out my stock tires will take time. Is there any risk of dry rotting or does that take for ever. My dad was trying to turn me away from the deal.

Look at the manufacture date on the tires. If you don't think you will use them in 5-7 years or so from the manufacture date, I would pass. I have run tires much older than that with no problems but I would not purposely buy tires and store them so I could run old tires.

Truth be told I'm waiting on Bilstein 5100s to level my sierra. Might settle on the ranchos seeing as how there is no word on the Bilsteins. Id go ahead and put the tires on immediately after I leveled it. Or would want to. Don't really plan on running the stock tires for 30000 miles.
