Pained me to do it but I drilled into my center console today, mounted a phone holder since I drive a lot, give it a "forever home" for when I use GPS and for it to charge. Was hard to do the first screw but once I was committed I figured there was no turning back now lol. Think it turned out halfway decent for a 10 minute job. It came with a crow foot to stick under the seat hold down nut but daggone GM has studs up there instead now. Oh well, I think I'll like it, only cost me $17 with free prime shipping

As you can tell I put the mount as low as possible to that trim piece in order to cover the screws up in order to try and keep it somewhat hidden

What keeps the bendy looking support (technical name escapes me at the moment) from folding with the phone on it? Or bumps and such? Is it fairly sturdy or quite flexible?

It seems to be an aluminum tube that is very rigid and is sort of hard to bend, definitely takes two hands. Only issue I have with this mount is it may vibrate due to its rigidity. I'll see how bad it is tomorrow morning on my way to work. If it's bad I'll get some rubber bushings or washers to stick under the mount, maybe it'll help absorb vibrations

May be slightly ghetto, but you could also maybe loosen it up a bit and stick some Styrofoam or something through above/between the screws if that doesn't work. Maybe cut the sides off so it is "hidden/tucked" underneath the square mount piece.

Can't say. But it may be a cheaper/quicker solution to try before spending the money on those. Worth a shot to just cut a square out of a cup or something. Or if you have some excess thin rubber laying around that you could snip a small bit out. Or even an old t-shirt.

 

I would want something with some thickness, but I also don't know how much it will rattle if any. I just feel like it'd be more comforting to have some soft thickness in there.

 

I'm a bit of a worry-wart so I often don't wait to see if it will rattle, I just expect it to be horrid lol. Rubber bushings/washers aren't expensive, and it'll definitely be more visibly appealing than my suggestions. I'd go with those first and see if they solve the problem (if there is one at all) to retain more of the aesthetic appeal.

I have self tapping screws in there now, but I could always do a nut and bolt to make it sturdier once I do the washers. I definitely want some thickness to help dissipate the vibes. I'll figure something out if it even gives me any issues

How are you liking your setup? Ride was? I'm just looking to level mine for now. Either thought about 2" leveling kit or should I upgrade to Bilsteins 5100s all around and place it on the top setting on the front?

If I were to do it over, I'd go with the Fox 2.0 coilovers honestly. From what I've heard these trucks ride so much nicer wth those installed. I'm on the edge of trading the truck in for a 2500hd so I don't wanna put the Fox coilovers on and waste the money on them if I upgrade

Around 400 a piece lol

 

On a side note, I did an oil change today at 81,660 miles. Also re did the black vinyl overlay for the bowties. I keep fudging them up so back at it again when I feel like it. I always forget to update this thread when I do stuff to the truck lol

Currently installing a 6" BDS lift and it's proving to be more than I expected, it's getting the best of me. Can't turn back now since I already hacked up my differential and parts of my frame. Full details to follow, but for anyone looking at a BDS lift, just don't do it. I have had good luck with the McGaughy's lift on my old truck, should have just stuck with them. Next truck I'll know. Should be done this week, I was hoping by the end of the weekend but there are some broken parts thanks to me lol

Currently installing a 6" BDS lift and it's proving to be more than I expected, it's getting the best of me. Can't turn back now since I already hacked up my differential and parts of my frame.       I agree with Tim.  As tech heavy as engines are these days, no way I’d be an early buyer of the new 6.6.  Of course, I bought my ‘26 Denali w/the 6.2 after dumping my Tundra with it’s defective 3.5 liter imploding engine disaster, so I’m a little gun-shy.  That said, my 6.2 has been rock solid.  I don’t drive it like I do my BMW Z4 M40i, but I don’t baby it either.  I got a V8 for a reason.  But I’m averaging 18 around town and 22 highway.  I have seen 24 highway as well when I wasn’t loaded up heavy.  Considering my Tundra with the twin turbo V6 only got 14.5 in town and 17 on the road, I’ll take the 6.2 all day, every day.  If I were you, I’d grab a ‘26 while you can.  Inventories are probably gonna start dropping and I’ll bet the deals will start looking sweeter as well.

      I am curious if anyone has figured out a way to add an hard button AUX or 360 Camera switch to the center row of switches. I have a 2021 AT4, and want to split the hill decent button and add a 360 camera button so that you don't have to go into the center display and locate the camera functionality, etc...   My father's 2024 Yukon XL AT4 and it has a hard button, see below.       Through the years it hasn't been my typical method as I tried to drop oil on an engine that was hot from having been worked, however that was not always practical and had to fire up a unit and let it warm up reasonably well and drop the oil when I had the time to do it but am referring to not only vehicles but a variety of farm equipment and highway tractors etc. However on a vehicle where one is crawling under it and the exhaust is nearby to ones body and if wanting to pull the plug without danger of being hit with boiling hot oil or attempting to remove a HOT oil filter, its sure safer and easier to not have everything smoking hot and can remove the filter right away when under the vehicle and let it all drain. Of course its not the end of the world if a bit of oil stays in the engine that might have eventually found its way out, I like to get out as much as possible but any oil changes that take place in shops would rarely be sitting around for very long at all before the plug is thrown back in and filter slapped on and oil poured in and sent out the door quick like. There would be very little time spent ( assuming they even did it ) in starting the engine with oil to fill the filter, then waiting to verify the level on the stick. A good reason to check ones oil level shortly after a shop changed the oil on a vehicle just to make sure its correct and to look under for any oil around the drain plug or filter.
