Leveling a 2015 GMC 2500 HD

Hello, new member here. I own a 2015 GMC SLT, Z71, 2500 HD. Has anyone leveled there 2015 2500 HD ? I jacked the front end up 2 1/2" to see what it would look like with 2 1/2" keys installed and it has the appearance of being a little to high in relation to the rear. At about 2" it looked better.(1/2" really does make a difference) With that said, is there a way I can tell a head of time whether I will have enough space between the Upper A- Arm and Metal Bump Stop ? That distance should be no less than 3/4". Any information on this or answer would be great.

Welcome, and sorry I don't have any information to answer your question. However there are plenty of threads on lifts and levels here that may help.

I have a 14 2500, which has the same exact chassis as the 15's. I just just leveled mine with keys and shock extenders. It does ride a bit rougher but nothing crazy! I also and running 33" toyo MT's so that may have something to do with it. I ordered the 1.5 to 2.5 inch leveling kit with shock extenders.. It leveled my truck perfectly without having the keys maxed out.

KMGZ400, where can I get 1 1/2 - 2 1/2" keys ? There are so many different opinions on leveling a vehicle. My truck already rides very stiff. Could be because it is equipped with snow plow prep front suspension. How much lift did you put in your 2014 ?

There is no difference in the suspension from plow prep to non plow prep, these are just stiff trucks.. Nature of the beast. I'm normally one of the people that likes to buy big name brand stuff but when it comes to torsion keys and shock extenders, they are all the same.. Just pieces of metal. I ordered mine from fatbobsgarage.com... They have the cheapest kit(price wise) for leveling these trucks, coming with the keys and extenders for about 140. Been running their leveling kits on all my trucks for years with no issues. And I'm not sure exactly how much lift it gave me but the truck is perfectly level and I could still crank them higher

Save your money and jack the truck up with the front wheels off the ground turn the adjustment bolt in about 3-4 even turns then do the other side. This will give you about 2" lift in the front, no need for shock extenders as they do nothing, the "A" arm will bottom out on the down travel before the shock will. All your doing is adjusting the ride height.

This is the truth! A quick look will show you the frame A-arm stops are the limiting factor, simply crank the bolts up until you are happy then get it aligned.

I find with no snow plow prep that I have to turn the drivers side all the way in and the pass. side damn near all the way.

The snow plow prep trucks have much longer bolts and cannot be turned all the way as you will hit the frame stops.

You need a 1/2in. clearance on the frame stops for suspension travel.

Did both of you guys do this to your new trucks ? This is what I mean about there being so many opinions on this subject. Thanks for responding.

Yes and several others.

The ride will be a little stiffer but no big deal.

The ride on a 2015 is extremely stiff already on city streets. Had a 2007 Chev 2500 HD and it had a smooth ride by comparison. But a harsher ride is to be expected with a lift. :driving: Thanks again for your input..
