HID lowbeam issues

So I have recently bout the HID conversion kits for my 2014 Silverado. I am currently having trouble with the low beams. They wont work on auto and only the right one comes on after I try and turn them on manually. Yes, I have the relay and it is installed. The high beams work fine and they are the same brand kit as the low beams, I ordered them at the same and from the same company. I have also replaced the ballasts and that didn't have any help on solving the issue.

Has anybody had this issue before, or any advice for me?

Do you have a Canbus Harness or a capacitor link installed? The PWM system for the DRL will cause those issues.

If no, you will need to purchase and install THIS unit. Wire the link in before the relay harness and it will smooth the pulsed voltage and fix your problem.

Hi wlkrdnck09,

I’m sorry that you are experiencing issues with the low beams in your Silverado. I’m unable to provide technical advice, but I can certainly look further into this matter for you. Feel free to send us a private message in reference to this thread if our help is needed. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Your lights use a "Pulse" signal for your low beams when your daytime running lights are on.

Do your lights come on normally when it gets dark out?

With mine I had to put a 4700uF capacitor to even out the pulse to have them turn on correctly

I had the exact same problem when I installed my HIDs yesterday. Today I installed capacitors and the low beams function normally. Looks like the capacitors are mandatory on these trucks. Fortunately they are inexpensive - about $2.50 ea. - and easy to install.

Yes a must on the low beams do to PWM of the DRL. The highs don't need it.

LMAO, at the quality of help from the GM rep. Really interested in our problems and reading thing fully. NOT!
