2014 Silverado Torque Spec

I searched but couldn't find the answer to this. If it has been posted before I apologize.

 

I am installing nerf bars on my 2014 Double Cab Silverado this weekend. They install to the body mount bolts. Its says torque to GM specs, but I cant find that number anywhere. Does anyone have the proper spec?

You have a torque wrench ?

 

Search basic torque for bolt size , body bolt is maybe a 12 mm

 

There is a chart ,

 

Or just tighten in up good say 80 pounds or so ,

 

Don't be anal about it is my point

I just tighten them with an impact gun until you hear the right sound.

I agree with the impact on 98% of things, but those captured nuts are a PAIN to fix if something goes wrong. Just playing it safe on this, only took an extra few minutes to torque them properly.

Im like friggin nascar with impacts lol but sometimes i prefer non air tools. I missed my matco guy friday really pissed me off forgot my matco card at home

Nope. Those big long bolt ones are 122 ft.lbs. Straight from the svc. manual.
