CAI suggestions

I'm building my own cai. Is it really necessary to have the pcv line attached to the intake tube? I've got an 08 GMC Sierra denali.

Where else are you gonna get the vacuum suction to draw the oil fumes from the valve cover/pcv opening?

That's why I was asking. I knew it was for the oil fumes to be recycled but didn't know if it was totally necessary.
