CAI suggestions

I'm looking to gain a little power, and hopefully a little better fuel efficiency by putting a CAI on my 2004 Sierra 2500 6.0. Obviously the flashy and expensive option would be K&N. But AEM claims it will add 12 hp and is significantly cheaper.... What has everyone tried and which system is the best for the price?

They be lying to ye! Well know that these trucks stock air boxes flow very well. I know of only a handful of vehicles that really benefit from a new CAI, being my VW one of them, and even then, a tune is the only answer to really get your truck feeling like new again. Contact Black Bear Performance and spend your money with them. It will probably cost the same as a new "flashy" CAI system and you will benefit greater than the intake with the tune. GL!

Looks like they sell all of the products I was looking at (K&N, AEM, Airaid) for about the same price....except the K&N, they are about $100 cheaper than going directly through K&N. Interesting, I've talked to some local guys about it that also have the same 6.0 in various vehicles and they all have a CAI of some form. I'm just trying to get as much as I can for the price. I'd be happy with 5 hp and .5 mpg better for that kind of money because of how much I drive.

I mean, you can get a CAI and it will flow a fraction better and you can get a nice wooshing sound as well as looks, just best to pair it with a custom tune to get all the benefits. And BBP will tune your truck for as long as you have it for free. With that tune you can have multiple tunes depending if you have the tow haul button. So you can have "eco mode" for driving and performance/tow with button pressed

Performance shop told me the air box and intake pipes flow very well

On the 6litres. Only tune transmission and engine.

Their oversized already

The 6oh will benefit for anything like any other LS based engine will.

I just got around to putting the stock air tube on my shelf in the garage. Imagine my surprise when I looked into the TB end and found the attached. What the heck is that about?
