Leave in 2in Lift Spacer?

having trouble finding answers to this, please let me know your thoughts..

I have a 2in level installed on my truck - sits perfect and level. I just ordered the Bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks to replace the crappy stock shocks... but NOT to get more lift.

My question .... do I keep in the 2in spacer in place and leave the 5100's at stock factory adjustment...... OR.. completely remove the spacer and adjust the 5100's to the max 1.8in setting?

Some say the 5100 at full max 1.8in extension may ride a little rougher? Others say leaving in the spacer will do the same.. and defeats the purpose.

Your thoughts?

I had a 2 inch spacer with 5100 bilsteins set a stock height. That setup rode better than my friends with just bilsteins set for max lift.
