Try plasti dip first at least it's temporary if you don't like it

Agreed. Plasti-dip looks just like.....Plasti-dip. IMNSHO it looks like a cheap ricer mod.

I like the black accents above. That looks sharp.

If you want them painted, get them either black anodized or powder coated.

I was just saying to use it temporarily if they are trying to decide to go that route. I did that only stock Camaro rims then liked it so I went with and bought black rims

I darkened the painted surfaces with a dark silver metallic to add depth to the wheels.

Here is the before:

Here is the after:

It made a obvious difference on the truck and I only invested my time and wheel paint.

Those look great! What kind of paint did you use? Primer?

I went to Advance Auto Parts and picked up some of the following:

1.Wax and Grease Remover

2.Dupli-Color Wheel Coating

3.Dupli-Color Gloss Clearcoat

I already had Scotchbrite Pads to scrub the wheels to break the glaze

Here is a pic of the paint:

After removing the wheels and sitting the truck on jackstands, I cleaned and dried the wheels.

Then a good cleaning with Wax and Grease Remover and complete drying.

Careful masking of the areas I did not want painted, followed by:

3 coats of color

Un-mask the areas previously covered, and finally

2 coats of clear

Nicely done! Blacked out wheels look like an old steel wheel with a missing hub cap in my opinion. Looks real good!

Thanks for the positive feedback, we all have our likes and dislikes, but this works for me.
