Leveling my silverado

Recommended Posts

I have a 2007 chevy silverado. Its a regular cab work truck. With the 4.3 vortec (slow). I blacked out the rims which made it look sooo much better. I also put i 8k HIDs. Other than that its stock. I wanted to level the front with 3 inch spacers. Didnt know if this would make it level or an inch higher in the front than the back. I like the hightened look but it not 4x4. So should i lower it to be level. I wanted to put bigger AT tires. whats size would fit? But i cant make up my mind. Little help please!? and how could i make it faster? Chip? Airintake? Exhaust?

The cheepest trick you can try, is to remove the stock rear spacers. Look at the block between the rear axle tubes & the leaf spring packs. Remove these & add washers back to the stock u-bolts & nuts.

See how much "level" that gives you, by lowering the back down.

If you want more, then head up to your closest AutoZone. They will have $40.00 rear 2" leveling shackles in stock. The next cheepest MOD to gain the level look your going for.

Let me know how you make out. Oh, after adding the 2" rear shackles, you may need to reinstall those factory 1" rear blocks.

First you have to decide level up(lift) or level down(lower) then everything else is butter. If you want to go up buy the 2" leveling spacer for under the strut or shock or whatever you want to call it( don't want to get called out for saying the wrong word by the grammar police). If you want to go down buy the shackles the block that is on the axle is only 1.25 inches and won't level it. Good luck and happy hunting.
