Hi Guys

Long time no posts here.

I will soon need new tires to replace the original factory Goodyear Eagle LS-2 P275-55-R20

I am wondering if anyone here could offer some advice as to what you may have used to replace these tires.

I am also trying to find out if I can go to a P285-55-R20 to get a bit wider tire.

I sometimes drive in sand at The Outer Banks of NC (with reduced pressure).

We have some snow and ice in the winter months in my area of the country.

I also do a lot of highway driving at 75-80mph when the posted speed limit is 70 mph.

I am hoping to get a tire that does not have vibration problems at those speeds.

I also don't want the balancing weights on the outside of the rim lip.

I prefer the "stick-on" type that goes on the inside of the rim so the ugly weights are hidden from view

Can anyone make some recommendations?

My budget is $1500

Michelin LTX.... Can't go wrong

What he said. Last truck I had them on was a 2007 dually. Came with the factory Generals that were gone at 47,000 miles. Replaced with the LTX's & sold the truck at 160,000+ miles. They had some life left, but were in the range of being due for replacement then.

Have a 2013 half ton now & as soon as the factory GY's are done, will buy another set of LTX's no questions asked.

The least expensive place years ago that I could find for Michelin tires was Sams/Costco. Tried both local & the chain type discount tire places, but neither were close to the club type stores.

They are right. Michelin LTX is amazing but the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 2 is also perfect for your truck. It is a durable all terrain tire perfect for your needs. Bought mine online for only $840.00 for a set of 4 tires, Hope this helps. :D

I am on my second set of tires. I like the Bridgestone Dueller Alenza H/L, which I am running currently. They have given me good service, have about 60,000 miles on them (all street driving), look to have about 20,000 miles of life left on them if I had to guess. I'll probably pull the handle on them later this year before the next winter.

They have given me excellent traction in all weather, are fairly quiet and provide a good ride.

I agree with the posts regarding the Michelins. I have heard very good reports regarding them. At the time, however, those were significantly more $$$s than the stones.

BTW, I am running 20s. No complaints here from the Alenza H/Ls.

Just my $0.05.

I have Nitto Terra Grappler G2 tires and so far i'm satisfied with its performance. It rides well in snow and wet conditions. I got mine at 4wheelonline, here http://4wheelonline.com/NittoTires.19627. You might want to check them out, they can give a good price.

Can you tell us more??? LT tire? Is it noisy? Handle well on highway? I want to buy the G2 265/70/17 LT
