I've had my 2015 Silverado truck for a week and.....

it's in the dealership, first reason, all the weights on three tires are on the inside and one is on outside. Second is to address a faint/light clicking sound coming from the CV joints, and the third, to reflash the transmission and see if that address the clunky shifting. Here's the kicker, I work for the automotive group who owns the dealership I bought it from. They own a Toyota one and I work parts for Toyota, but both dealerships are run by the same people. Let's see what the results of today are...

Following to hear about the transmission

Didn't you say the clicking sound happened after your level?

Also, what transmission flash?

The transmissions are notorious for needing a "break in/learn" time. It will get a little better after you put some more miles on it.

If its an 8-speed, this may not hold true. Personally speaking of course.

Last night, mine had one of its unpredictable temper tantrums. Coasting to a stop, that last point where the torque converter releases turned into a violent bang. Scared my wife in the passenger seat. Did it again a few stops later. Hasn't done it since.

Yea, the 1.5 inch front level... if I have to I'll just remove it. I told them to re-flash the transmission to get to stop slamming gears, I'm just curious if they'll do anything about it.

Best of luck!

I waited a while after I bought my truck to start doing any mods. Just wanted to see if anything needed warranty work before I started messing with it.

This is always a nice route

I'd also add "smart" in there too.

Well I ordered at set of Master Craft Courser AXT in 285/70 17 to see if they will fit... I got them for super cheap. Hopefully they will fit.

from my own personal experinces the tranmission and clunkyness has not gotten any better after 6k miles now

6132 miles and my transmission hasn't LEARNED anything other than acting up, I wish I could get out of it but it's a lease and I would take a real hit trying to.

My 8 speed had been more predictable for the last week or so, until yesterday afternoon. I picked up my teenage son, three of his friends, and a bunch of their percussion stuff, which is the most weight the truck has had in it. Not more than a couple of miles into the drive around town, transmission became really unpredictable in what it wanted to do, and went into its clunky-start behavior as well as very audible shifts. At one point, while coming to a stop, it lurched forward on me right before it stopped. I consider that a safety issue when the vehicle doesn't follow my instructions to come to a stop. Was the same way this morning, until I decided to treat it like a ornery horse and ran it aggressively. Now its acting better.

I am pricing Tundras now. I am done with this GM product. To hell with GM and their transmission engineers. I don't want something that I don't know how its going to behave, and I don't want something that I am not sure my wife or son can drive predictably. And I certainly don't want something that after all the time and money to this point, all GM offers for compensation is ~$50 worth of XM subscription.
