This weekend while washing my truck I noticed a problem with my headlights. They are cracking from the inside out. In particular the passenger side is really bad and the drivers side looks to just be starting. I'm going to the dealer later this week for my first oil change and will have them get the warranty process started. Just curious if anyone else has had this issue. Out of all the "this truck sucks" threads I've yet to see one about cracking lights lol.

Hmm that's strange, don't think i've seen that on any car let alone a brand new one. Almost looks like someone was trying to push the truck and put their hands on the headlight.

Shouldn't be a problem for warranty.

They are suppose to be like aircraft grade lens if I recall the sales correct. Looks like someone might have punched it so it pushed inward causing the inside surface to expand. Did you piss someone off? XD

Is it cracking on the lens itself or is there some kind of coating that cracks?

I have no clue how it happened all I can guess is a defective set. The projectors are fine it is just the inside of the housing that's cracking. Here's some better pictures I took this morning. I am dropping my truck off for its free oil change and service at noon today. They will be writing up a claim for new headlights and passenger mirror.

Honestly, it does not look like heat affected, it does not look like where the projector will shine the beam on when it is dirty.

My only guess is something hit it lol.... a bird could do it....

The same thing happened to my Z06. Be ready to hear that it's "a damage caused by impact".

The drivers side is starting to do the same as well so I don't think it's from hitting anything.

I'm waiting to hear back from the service manager today. The mechanic who did the oil change noted the damage is from heat.

On a positive note this has to be the best oil change I've had in a vehicle to date. They didn't leave one drop of oil behind underneath.

Do you have HIDs installed?? What kit did you get if you do?

I can say this much, it's not heat. My Z06 has OEM HID, which generates very little to no heat, and the headlight lenses had crazing/cracking. Granted that it took a few years longer to appear than on your truck.

almost looks like someone gave it to much elbow grease when cleaning the headlights. like flexing them over and over while trying to scrub off bugs?
