I'm in Texas to and the only place that has it here is 2.15. Mileage sucks on this stuff but damn the truck feels so much better. Contemplating going back to higher grade gas other than regular. Really like the hp gains and overall feel of truck off e85 which is making it hard to go back to gas

if you are paying that for E85, that is the gouging I was talking about. E85 is 1.65 two miles from my house. Search around for another station because they dont price it competitively like gasoline. Down the road it could be 1 dollar less.

Totally agree with the gouging. 2 Stations closed to me are 10cents cheaper than regular 87 octane. (currently 2.65) but two other stations a little further for me both have it for $1.99. Really like running the e85 fuel.

The only E85 in my area is from Mapco (3 gas stations in town) and they have just recently started to price gouge. Gas has recently increased to $2.29 to $2.39 (87) and $2.72 to $2.90 (93) but E85 is $2.12 so it's only a 22% saving. So now I'm really contemplating getting there sensor and tune for my 6.2.

The price may be cheaper or more exspensive depending on where you live but IMO using E85 is worth the price. Its healthier for your truck because It burns so much cleaner. Obviously less deposits in your engine oil. I also have noticed a smoother response when mashing the pedal.

I would rather lose a few nickels at the pump and have a heathier motor then burn the black tar and pay for it later.

That's a good point, Rik. I will say however that the need for a quality catch can is higher with E85 because E85 loves to attract water. You will want one to separate the moisture from your crankcase with the PCV system.

Has anyone noticed this in their engine oil looking/staying cleaner longer on E85. I've got about 6800 miles on my truck now with the oil percent life now down to 13% and my oil still looks very clean. Maybe its just because the truck is still newer maybe not?

That's an interesting point. I'm using a catch can and E85 since the truck was almost new and I seem to collect a lot of water. Even with the warmer temps recently I still seem to collect more than the other guys in the catch can thread. When or how does it attrack the water, does this happen in the gas tank or during the combustion process?

Similar in my area within the same city there are stations 80, 50, & 30 cent cheaper. Used to be one that priced it only 10 cents lower.

I would guess in the fuel pump tank, your gas tank, and anywhere else it is exposed to the atmosphere....

No such thing and I've ran dozen of e85 tanks. Get your check engine light checked out either at the dealer or local parts store and see what the code is.

its looking like I might have to but its killing me having to leave it over the long weekend. i have a full tank so im just gonna burn thru it and hopefully it goes out. either way it is a good idea to have it checked at dealer. thank you

Please scan the DTC and create a thread to discuss it. Could be something stupid & simple.

    • I'm not sure if this should be a new topic, let me know if it's out of place. This my first post. Thanks 85077522 - AC Delco GM Genuine Parts Brake Master Cylinders. Anyone else had to replace this brake master cylinder yet. I didn't do any brake work, it looks like new parts and I've had the truck for about 4k miles, 119k total miles.  When it started to throw codes I did the calibrations with a bidirectional scanner and got the codes to clear but they came back so I did the routine; base bleed, automated bleed and final base bleed. All that with Bosch ES16-32N fluid (please look it up). That seemed to fix it but 100ish miles later it failed again so I ran the same process but with a pressure bleeder this time and got the same results, fixed for 100ish miles. The original fluid looked bad and I thought I got most of it out, it could've been the wrong fluid. The codes; P25A2, C05B0-00, C2A1B. I can get them to clear but not for long. The C05B0 indicates a leak in the front circuit (which is bone dry) so I'm thinking of doing the bleed process on that front again today and I don't know if that's taboo to just do the front but at this point it seems like it's worth the try anyway. The new master cylinder/module unit is supposed to get here today. But now I'm pretty much convinced this install is over my head. I've called several shops and some mobile guys that I know but this thing is like radio active material, scary wise. I did get 2 local shops say they should be able to do it, one says he has the SPS2 programing capability. And with the battery disconnected is there supposed to be pedal resistance, mine is to the floor, then if I pump it I can get some resistance. I had a panic stop prior to this issue which may have contributed from what I read. And on the first attempt to bleed and hydraulic test the scanner listed things to look for and one was any gaps between the pad and rotors which I did notice on the RF corner and I removed the outer pad (where the gap was) cleaned it and the hardware and didn't see a gap after that but will re-check it. I read that if pushing the caliper pistons back then you're supposed to open the bleeder so as to not push fluid backwards into the abs module or it will damage it. If that's true then that's also a possibility from the previous owner having the brakes changed before I got it. I'm using an XTool ip500 scanner. Any suggestions, questions and comments welcome.
