Hey Everyone,

Just replaced my 2004 2500 HD (with about 300,000 miles) with a new 2015. Trany felt funny all along but assumed it was just "learning" like they said it would. I now have about 1,500 miles on it. In the past 2 days it has been slipping, running much hotter than normal, chattering right after a shift, totally slipped out of gear while driving, got stuck in 2nd gear a few times, wouldn't go into reverse, etc. Its now back at the dealer. Any one having similar issues with these yet? I do not beat on it and fluid level is good.

You know what? The only one who is "learning" is the guy they hired off the street who knows in what country to built your transmission without proper training or quality control. He has to assemble so many of them wrong until he learns how to do it right. How is that for the "learning" explanation?

Yep. Thats the truth...Not the answer I was hoping for but the truth. Thanks for making me laugh.

hahahah.....yeah,,,its learning allright...Learning how to clunk , how to flare , how to be erratic with slow speed driving 10-35 MPH , how to be confused on when to shift when im not going full throttle, how to take forver to shift on the HWY to 6th. ....Unfortunatly mine never learned =(

I just gave up on the clunking and confusion...Gm really seems to think its normal so After 3 visits I just gave up . Good luck mate.

Had a couple of weird tranny experiences on an 1800 mile trip last week with my '14 5.3L double cab. Towing 2k# heavily loaded trailer. Seemed to slip to over 5k rpm once and stumble around searching at lower rpms a couple of times. Puzzled.

I purchased a new GM 350 engine, I purchased a new 700r4 transmission, I purchased a locking rear end. Had GM shop install everything.

On my way home the tranny burnt up...15k on new motor spun bearings...and rear end binds up....

I Will avoid GM like Ebola Virus and AIDS for the rest of my life.

I don't like being abused...

Got it back last night. Feels like a totally different truck. From what they told me, Tork converter "shit the bed." Found metal shavings, dust and other stuff everywhere. It has been rebuilt completely, the only thing original is the housing. I have a mile long list of parts that were replaced. They guaranteed me I will never be back there with a transmission problem. I hope It all works out. They were going to replace the transmission but had trouble getting one there fast so they rebuilt it. Clearly not something everyone needs to worry about, just one bad one in the bunch. Thank you all for your posts and info. I will update as time goes on.
