Sad day...

I was visiting my bil in St.Louis over the weekend, we were packing up to leave Tuesday morning when big storm hit. Lots of wind followed by hail...on my truck..out in the driveway. By the time i leaped the doggy gate at the top of the stairs and made it outside, too late. It's not horrible but its dinged...hood, roof and some on the passenger side. Taking it in next week..it will be fixed, no one hurt, but still sucks. Right after i put new Toyo Open Country AT2s on it...great tires, btw..handled great in 100 year flood waters, lol

My "new" truck was 6 months old when it took a hail storm about $17,000 worth of damage. Hood, roof one mirror bed rails, Retrax.

Sorry to hear that. They were showing just south of STL yesterday on the Weather Channel with hail going straight through back windows of parked cars.

Do you think the damage on your truck can be fixed by paintless dent repair guys?

I actually think it can. I'm taking it for an estimate to the body shop my insurance recommended, but I have a few other places I have found that have been recommended for paintless dent repair as well. Can't hurt..

Oh man. Same happened to me back in 2009. Truck was in shop for two weeks getting repaired. I watched it get pummeled from the window in the mall during a thunderstorm. Mother Nature, can't beat her.

I still can't seem to get any good pics of the damage. Got a quote from one of the shops recommended by State Farm, $3500. They are replacing the hood, and pdr the rest of the panels. The way the wind was blowing, only the passenger side and hood and roof got nailed. Nothing at all on drivers side. Oh well, I have insurance, and they even cover 80% of the rental car. Seems like every car I have had since my 1997 Firebird have been damaged, 0 which have been my fault.
