Odd vibration while towing

I've been pulling a 10k lb travel trailer for just under a year now with no big issues. On Tuesday while towing to cherry hill park in D.C. the tires broke loose pulling away from a light. No it wasn't a jack rabbit start and no extended squeal. Just the whole ass end jumping around under half throttle on damp roads. Happened a couple of times before I flipped the 4wd to auto and then no more issues.

On the way home Friday (dry roads and sunny) I had this weird vibration when pulling away from lights and to some degree on the hwy. Saturday pulling my daughter's car had same weird vibration. Wonder if the rear end hopping damaged the universals....

Maybe something happened to the G80. It should have tried to lock if one wheel was slipping on the wet road.

Interesting. I have a vibration when taking off while towing my 6k+ load. Never had an issue that started it Like you. If you figure anything out please post.

Red...both rear tires broke loose...seemed to be functioning just axle hop. I'm going to keep an eye on things...and of course my wife is tired of my modifications to the truck to handle the load and how close I am to the limits. She's pushing for a diesel.

Learned some interesting things over the last couple of days.

Ram 2500 rides like a cement truck, engine vibrated my back to no end and they put controls in the weirdest places. What moron puts the heated steering wheel, tow haul and tbc at the bottom of the console.

F250 lariat only had 2200 lbs of available payload...basically that means hooking my trailer up and occupying every seat without putting one bike in the bed exceeds the GVWR. Same issue with tbc...man step? Really? No bumper steps? Still have to lock my hubs in?

GM twins...much better. Available payload 2600lbs. That means I have an excess capacity of ~400lbs to put stuff in the bed while only hitting 19K combined. Wish the duramax pushed just as hard as the ford or dodge.

Ford dealer recommended an f350 for my load...wife is pushing for a srw gm3500...that would give me about 1700lbs of excess capacity.

I hope your wife drives some sort of super exotic! I've never seen or heard of a wife that is pushing for the husband to buy a truck like that! It's 100% of the time the other way around.....and the wife still gets her way....

Lol...she drives a '13 lacrosse 2.4 and is an accountant. She loves numbers...especially margin. I see 368 lbs of excess capacity and get happy. She sees a 3500 has about 1600 lbs excess for about the same money and smiles. Like to keep her smiling.

Well it's settled...barring any shenanigans I'm picking up a white 2500 CC SLT Z71 on Saturday. 2.29% for 75 months isn't a bad gig.
