Radar detector power source

I have a Cobra I've been using for years and I feel it's caught a cop or 2 well before I could see them..

What I don't like is (when I'm city driving) my old Cobra goes off whenever I pass a newer high end car... They pack so much surrounding sensors now - it triggers mine to go off.

Regardless - I think its more comfort having it in front of my vision.

This is due to how the blind spot detection works on a lot of the newer vehicles. You can minimize this with a lot of the newer detectors. I have the same issue as you but the V1 is easy enough for me to change the volume on it's not a big deal to me.

There is a retained accessory power pin next to the fuse box on the drivers cowl. A blade type connector fits perfectly onto it and you can ground on the chassis a few inches away. I ran my wire under the pillar trim. I can post a picture if anyone needs it

I would appreciate seeing pics of your install.
