Driver side mirror going nuts

I noticed last Friday when I got in to go to work that my mirror setting on the driver side was off. It was pointed straight up in the air as high it could go. I readjusted and went to work. I noticed at lunch it was pointed directly at the ground when I got in this time and readjusted again. When I got out to eat lunch, the seat adjusted to the exit setting, and I heard the mirror motor. When I looked at it, it was just moving up as if I were holding the up arrow to adjust it. It wouldn't stop trying to move even after it reached the limit of its adjustability. I opened the door and manually adjusted the mirror with the button and it stopped as soon I pressed an arrow.

I leave work that evening, mirror is where it should be. I adjust to the 2 memory setting as I like it better for highway driving and I use the 1 setting for city driving. When the seat adjusts for the setting, the mirror does its thing and keeps moving straight up again until I select it and adjust it manually. Then it's fine again. If I get in the truck with the keys that work with the 2 setting, the mirror acts normal. If I use the keys for the 1 setting, the mirror is normal. If I pick the opposite setting of the fob I'm using, it goes either straight up or straight down when I select the other setting. It also now moved either straight down or straight up and then stops at its limit in either direction when the seat goes to the exit setting. I changed the exit setting to match the 2 setting and then the 1 setting, so it doesn't move any when getting out from where it is before exiting. Mirror acts normal when exit setting matches either of the 1 or 2 memory settings. Mirror also seems to randomly either keep moving straight up or down when I get out and lock the doors so they fold in, but not every time. Anyone had anything similar to this happen, I'm guessing I just need to have the dealer check it out. I broke a couple clips on the mirror covers I'm December when I wrapped the covers. They have worked fine minus the clips since then and have been through plenty of snow/ice/rain. Would the dealer try to tell me that it's not working since the clips are broken? I think I covered all the crazy scenarios I encountered this weekend with the mirror, I'll try and take some videos of it tomorrow.

Whatever became of this? I have the EXACT same thing going on in my 2015 Denali. Mirror refuses to go back to it's saved position and does exactly as you described.

It only did this for a couple days and has been working perfectly fine ever since. I have no idea what was going on man.

Hmmmm. Well, I made an appointment with the dealer for tomorrow morning, but letting them fondle the truck is a last resort. Maybe I'll just see it through the weekend and if it's still doing it I'll give it to them. Is there a fuse or something I can pull to "reset" the memory module?

I'm sure there is but I couldn't tell you which one it would be lol. I'd give it a couple days and see if it clears itself up. I did power wash mine pretty good not long before it had started acting up, I wondered if water had gotten in, but I've done it again after that incident and it's been fine.

And just like that, it fixed itself. WTF truck?

Your's is working fine again too? lol I have no clue man, and haven't seen anyone else with the issue really.

Yep. Seems to be working fine now. All of a sudden. I guess when I threatened to take it to the dealership to have them reflash the module it straightened up, lol.
