LED Headlight question

Regarding the LED daytime running lights on my 15 sierra denali, How would I go about having the lower and upper LED lights on without having the projector headlight bulb on?

 

Mine seems to only be able to have the lower set of LEDs on or both with the projector and with that, the LED lights seem to be dim.

 

I noticed a truck driving yesterday with both sets of LEDs on bright and no projector beam.

It seems to be when you put it in drive they go brighter, on my truck anwyays. Maybe have someone watch while you put it in drive. Does turning your headlight switch one click turn the top and bottom on?

Turning the switch one click does activate both lower and upper LED lights but also turns on the projector beams. Trying to just have both LED sets on at max intensity without the projector on.

I dont think I have ever seen a truck with both lights on at the same time, maybe they were running anzo headlights.

The top led strip only has one brightness setting while the bottom one has bright when its on by itself and it goes dim when you turn the headlights on.
