borla pro xs

I just am giving yall a heads up that, if you are looking for a good sounding muffler the borla pro xs sounds great. I just replaced the muffler and removed the flapper valve and left the rear muffler. It is not loud in the cab at all and no drone like i have gotten from magnaflow before. Has a good tone outside the cab.

I've been looking at putting one of these on my 4.3 Ecotec. Cheap enough to give it a try and decide how it sounds - it sounded great on the old 4.3 Vortecs - it'll be interesting to see how it sounds on the new Ecotec.

i would not think so, this one is only 14 inches long. pretty similar to the magnaflow, i just dont get the drone from it like i do with the magnaflow. I have since removed rear reasonator it was just too quite for me, i did get some drone when it would switch to 4 cycliner mode. I have since also got the range device and it is just what i wanted not too loud but gives it a good sporty sound.

also just for any one interested in the range technologies device. the v8 mode is a lot better, have full power all the time and only dropped the mileage about 2mpg. the 4cyl to 8cyl mode was one of the things that i did not care for at all on these trucks, plus there is no way that is can be good for your motor to switch back and forth all the time.

thanks for the info on the Pro Xs. I had my muffler removed long ago and the truck sounded good, but I wanted to have a different tip set up plus get the flapper removed as it was rattling once in awhile.

Had this work done yesterday and removed the resonator not thinking it would make a big difference in sound. Wronggg its crazy loud now. I like it, but its a bit much. I want to find a muffler to tone it down a bit but don't want the drone. Is your Pro Xs a center in center out design? I have the 6.2 so my piping is a little bigger

Now that the resonator/flapper is gone, I can hear the difference when it is V8/V4 mode. Its not major but it is noticeable. Never noticed it before when only the muffler was removed

mine is the center and off center one, thats the one you will need to fit closser to factory so there is not a neet to bend pipe.

3 inch both sides is all you need. If the pipe is already reduced to 3 inch on the side coming out or in is 3 inch will be all you need. the muffler shop will be able to make that work as needed.
