Driving in Tow / Haul mode

I feel I get better get up and go when using the Tow / Haul mode on the interstate, and like the shift points when driving on the hilly, winding back roads on the way to work. I use it every day, as soon as I fire up the truck.....will the constant use, especially on the back roads, cause any damage, or early wear on the trans ??.

As my Chevrolet trainer likes to say: When there's not trailer, it goes from tow/haul mode to haul @$$ mode :driving:

I'm willing to pay for the extra fuel.....and "Haul @$$".....ummm.....it's better, but no rocket ship

I see no need for it. Doesn't make the truck "faster" either IMO. Used it a bit in my 2012 when I had it and it felt a hair slower WOT with it on vs. off. Hilly driving it goes into M and I lock out 6th or 6th and 5th and leave it in M4.

I'm not say it goes faster....truck will go as fast as it can go, but it seems to have better pick up, or responds better to the throttle. In regular drive, it lacks the kick I'd like to have when jumping out in traffic to pass. I do use the "M3" on the back roads on the snow days.....helps keep everything stable on the hills.

I use M3 and M4 a lot around town. I hate the way the trans upshifts way too early. (Still under warranty so I'm waiting to do a 'tune'.)

I use the manual up/down buttons quite a lot, too, to make it hold 2nd gear around an intersection, etc. I've thought about using tow/haul, too. I'll have to give that a try.

I use tow haul in stop and go traffic. More control with just the throttle. Let off it slows it's self.
