GMT800 survey.

Who here agrees that the GMT800 pickup was the last, best quality GM truck ever built? Furthermore, would you prefer it over a GMT900 and the latest K2XX truck?

Well I did go from a 332k mile 2000 sierra to a 333k mile 2004 sierra and didn't bat an eye. I would call that confidence.

Nope. My 2003 was a POS that turned me off of GM for a while. My 2011 was a far better truck.

I've had 2 -800 HD's, a -900 1/2 ton and now a K2 HD. Both -800's were great, and the -900 was too but the K2 beats both. I'd rank them K2, then -800, then -900. If I were to pick up a spare truck for whatever reason though, a clean -800 or -400 would be where my $$$ goes.

Where is the poll?

The GMT800 had its pros and cons

The GMT900 has its pro and cons

After owning both the 900 > 800 and I would have no plans to go back to an 800

Drivetrain is way better in the 900's

I don't like the interior in the 900's. I prefer the layout and style of my 2006 interior. I don't like how the center stack is laid out in the 900's. After spending a 14 hour road trip in a newer suburban, I decided I don't like the seats in the 900 either. I do not want AFM, and if you look on fuelly, the mpg did not improve going to the 900.

A lot of it is personal preference. Overall I prefer the 800, there is nothing the 900 has that would make me switch. I like my 800 body style. The only upgrade for me would be a 2006 Duramax.

Only think i dont like about the 900 is interior. I had an 09 HD gasser as a work truck. It was fine, but it was uncomfortable driving 9 hours to Orlando and another 9 back home the next day

GMT800 best quality..? The 95% hard plastic interior that was creaky and noisy Interior leds all burnt out.. Shoddy gauges, junk 4L60, etc. Don't get me wrong, I love GMT800's, I had 3 that a drove the shit out of them, but I also have had multiple GMT900's, that are better. From the interior, chassis, engines, body, etc. and I haven't been around the K2's much but I would not question they are better then the gen before.
