Convert to factory dual electric fans on '04 Suburban

I've been gathering more info about this swap. With the harness and fans I have, is it necessary to tap in to the a/c clutch and add another relay so both fans kick on high when the a/c kicks on (like the Nelson harness does)? Or will I be ok with stock?

No a/c a/c

Low temp= no fans pass high

High temp= both fans low Both fans high

Your truck is an 03 so you have the same pcm the 05 trucks use. You hook it up as per the oem 05 and newer setup. Your pcm can control based on a/c system pressure whereas the older trucks cannot.

The nelson harness, ls1fans.com harness, and stock harness all operate the fans the same way. But they still need to be setup in the pcm tune i think.

Yes, they have to be programmed to work, then tune them for the parameters you want them to work at. I'm not a tuner, my buddy is, he says it's a very simple process.

It really is. I just copied the factory settings for the pressures out of an e fan truck and then just modify the temperature settings to something not so stupidly high. The factory thermostat is 186 degrees so I just put my settings closer to that.
