I don't understand why my lower control arms are black steel on my brand new 2015. It was made in the beginning of may when gm was supposed to go with the aluminum control arms for better noise control from what I read.

Well shoot!!! I looked at the Chevy I'm parked beside in my pic I posted on here and his looked aluminum. Mine are black which should be steel. Do you have steel or aluminum? Why does one z71 get steel and another aluminum? I don't get it.

The 1310 kits will work on both. The aluminum kit comes with longer bolts as I do believe. If you have steel, the bolts will rub the control arm. You can either trim extra threads of bolt or flip the bolt upside down (head on top and nut on bottom). Any respectable shop will be able to figure that out.

Irish - Your truck looks great. Can you please post pictures (if you haven't already) from the front and rear, may at or near ground level? Debating this same setup, or 305/55R20. I want zero rub with the 2.5 level, but also don't want the tires to look too skinny, which is what I am afraid of with the 275/65R20. From the side the 65 sidewall looks excellent. Thank you.

It is really too bad there are more options in the 285/60 size.

Me personally, I wouldn't want wider unless you have fender flares.

I just bought the same truck. Looking at adding the same leveling kit and tires. What type of trimming did you have to do. Truck looks very good. Exactly what I want to do.

Thank you for the pictures. I think I've made up my mind. 2.5" with 275/65R20.

If you go with the 2.5" the 275/65 tires will look pretty small.

I have a 2" only and use to have 275/65 and even then I thought that the tires were way to small. I would go with 33x12.50 tires, requires NO trimming and looks great.

From the perspective of the sidewall/diameter (65 or 33") or width (275 or 12.50").

33 x 12.5 are smaller in diameter tires, but over an inch wider

275/65/20 are 34.1" in diameter which is a taller tire, but not as wide.

I chose a taller tire vs wider tire bc I would need/ want fender flares to protect the body of the truck.

Body spray is bad enough with stock width tires.

To each their own, but I don't want anything wider. So I will never get 33 x 12.5
